Role Mission

This position will support the company’s Project Management Delivery Model by taking an Agile Project Manager role, implementing new initiatives following BSI’s IT PMO methodologies and best practices. This role will focus on facilitating both agile and waterfall methodology events and ceremonies to help teams achieve optimum productivity.

This role is a key resource to ensure project results contribute positive business value and drive continuous improvement and Best Practices in support of the company vision, operation strategy and roadmap.

 

Position Overview: We are seeking a dynamic and experienced individual to join our ITPMO (Information Technology Project Management Office) department as an Agile Project Manager. This role requires a versatile professional who possesses a deep understanding of both Agile and Waterfall methodologies, as well as hands-on experience in training, coaching, and executing projects in various capacities, such as Scrum Master, Program Manager, or Project Manager. The successful candidate will play a pivotal role in driving successful project deliveries and fostering a culture of continuous improvement within the organization.

Key responsibilities

· Strong partner with IT PMO, Business/IT Stakeholders, and Vendors to deliver valuable solutions and processes to the organization.

· Serve as a point of contact for project teams helping them agree on what they can achieve during each development sprint and/or phase of a project.

· Ability to coordinate and schedule resources across multiple functions to align products with business goals and key objectives, ensuring efficient utilization of project resources.

· Develop and implement corrective action plans to mitigate impact to product, sprints, budget, and overall business objectives.

· Identify, monitor, report and escalate project related issues to achieve timely objectives.

· Utilize project tracking tools and systems to accurately document milestones completions, project issues, corrective action plans, project jeopardies, budget tracking, and overall project completions.

· Maintain excellent communication with functional team members, direct management, and external customers to ensure early identification of issues and timely reporting of status and agile metrics.

· Collect agile metrics for the team (using Jira), assess and find areas of improvement that help team members self-organize.

· Work with Project Managers, Scrum Master(s), to increase effectiveness of agile and waterfall delivery methodologies.

· Take ownership of projects across various domains, utilizing both Agile and Waterfall methodologies as needed and act as a subject matter expert in Agile and Waterfall methodologies, advocating for the best approach based on project requirements and team dynamics.

· Ability to adapt Waterfall practices to align with specific project needs and ensure successful delivery within a traditional project management framework.

· Assume the Scrum Master role for Agile projects, guiding the team towards self-organization and continuous improvement.

· Oversee and manage multiple interconnected projects within a program, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and objectives.

· Monitor the interdependencies between projects, proactively addressing any potential conflicts or issues.

 

Qualifications & Experience

Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Information Technology, Business, or a related field

· Minimum (5-7) years of experience in Scrum Manager role

· Proven experience as a Project Manager, Scrum Master, or Program Manager, with a track record of successfully delivering projects using Agile and Waterfall methodologies

· Certification in Agile methodologies such as Certified ScrumMaster (CSM) or Professional Scrum Master (PSM) is desirable

· Experience working in an ITPMO using PPM tools such as ServiceNow a plus

· Experience managing offshore resources supporting key time zones

· Experience coordinating with 3rd party vendors

· Strong verbal and written communication skills

· Ability to work and lead in a matrix environment with changing project requirements and priorities
