Maintenance Lead

What makes this a great opportunity?
The Maintenance Lead directs the maintenance workforce and provides onsite expertise. It is the responsibility of the Maintenance Lead to ensure the safe execution of all scheduled work and maintain the quality of workmanship and professionalism of the maintenance team.
Role Responsibilities
Leadership
- Work in partnership with the maintenance planner, maintenance supervisor and the operations supervisors to ensure objectives of the department are aligned with the plant goals and that work being executed contributes to fulfilling those goals.
- Assist with developing maintenance strategies for the site.
- Assist in managing personnel to include discipline, time and attendance, performance reviews and development plans.
- Submit recommendations for improvements and cost reduction both for CAPEX and OPEX.
- Works with EHS to leads the maintenance organization ensuring all team members obey all safety and environmental rules and regulations.
- Manage the team according to all Cruzan working rules and policies as well as those set out by the collective bargaining agreement.
- Assist in conducting evaluation of skill level, performance and discipline of employees and act as a liaison between personnel and management
- Take an active role in the development of employees in maintenance.
- Champion the adoption of best practices, proactive maintenance and LEAN Manufacturing.
- Verify work is complete for work order closing.
- Walkdown jobs to give planner scope of work and materials needed to complete WO’s submitted.
- Follow up with PO’s to verify materials are ordered.
Maintenance
- Ensures all maintenance work is done in a safe manner, having a hands-on approach in Lock-Out/Tag-Out policy and enforcing it, as well as within all environmental rules and regulations.
- Align maintenance priorities to operations priorities to maximize reliability
- Preform hands-on trouble shooting and problems solving.
- Knowledge of all disciplines of maintenance
- Oversight of manpower (internal and contractors) to the maintenance schedule and maximize efficiency; Ensure equipment availability.
- Verify work schedule in CMMS is being completed
- Hands on troubleshooting and problem solving
- Knowledgeable in all disciplines of maintenance
- Assist in hands on application of LOTO
- Provide initial call-in assistance for afterhours maintenance events
- Responsible for hands-on performance review evaluations
- Communicate with shift supervisor with daily issues of plant
- Attend weekly work order planning meetings
- Coordinate execution of emergency work
- Perform root cause analysis
- Responsible for maintaining 5S Methodology in all work areas
- Ability to multi-task and work independently
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization and good working order of all maintenance facilities and equipment
- Coordinate parts procurement and work order kitting
- Able to plan work in the CMMS as a backup Assist in coordinating the execution of emergency work.
- Provide initial contact call-in assistance for afterhours maintenance events and be willing to participate in a rotating call-in schedule.
- Coordinate the execution of preventative, predictive and proactive maintenance of plant equipment.
- Maintain, improve and enforce adherence to all maintenance master processes.
- Verify the execution of all work and uphold the highest degree of workmanship and cleanliness for all those under his or her supervision.
- Ensure that the appropriate equipment, parts, and materials are always maintained in stock and that they have been procured in the most cost-effective manner available.
- Assist with vendor/contractor cost quotes and scheduling on-site work as needed.
- Provide timely communication regarding the status of repairs, maintenance and equipment installation.
- Comply with safety regulations and maintain clean and orderly work areas utilizing 5S methodology.
- Diagnose and troubleshoot problems and develop innovative solutions. Perform root cause analysis when necessary
- Verify, maintain and update all relevant information in the CMMS. Ensure all maintenance personnel is entering work feedback accurately and in a timely fashion. (Ceridian vs. CMMS >90%)
- Ensure the cleanliness, organization and good working order of all maintenance facilities and equipment.
- Interact positively with visitors to the Cruzan Rum Distillery including visitors to the tour program, corporate visitors, and VIPs.
- Adheres to and promotes quality, environmental, health and safety as one of the organization’s business priorities.
- Perform all other duties as assigned.
Qualifications & Experience
EDUCATION, QUALIFICATIONS, AND EXPERIENCE
- Bachelor’s degree in relevant filed and at least four years proven experience in a maintenance supervisory, lead or similar role or;
- Associates degree in a relevant field and at least 6 years proven experience in a maintenance supervisory, lead or similar role or;
- High School diploma with a trade school certificate in a relevant field and at least 8 years proven experience in a maintenance supervisory, lead or similar role.

- Advanced Electrical and Mechanical knowledge.
- Computer literate in Windows 10, Microsoft Office, Computerized Maintenance Management Software.
PHYSICAL DEMANDS AND WORK ENVIRONMENT
- Ability to perform activities that vary throughout the day both in an office environment, as well as in a manufacturing facility.
- Ability to work in conditions which may present exposure to excessive heat & humidity, intermittent to constant noise, vibration, dust and slippery or uneven walking surfaces.
- Ability to lift 50 pounds and move heavy materials in difficult work positions.
- Must be willing and able to work long and irregular hours to effect critical repairs.
- Must be able to maintain confidentiality.
