International Engineering Leader  


The following position is open in ScotlandUnited Kingdom.


What makes this a great opportunity?

This role supports the growing body of engineering work at International Sites by building capability and leading and managing key projects at International locations including Scotland, Ireland, England, Spain, France and India. 


As BSI grows there is a need to increase engineering capability at our International sites.  Each site will be staffing for success in maintenance, continuous improvement and capital projects.  In combination with this an additional infusion of capability and capacity is needed.


This role is part of the central engineering organization and has visibility to and influence of all the BSI International operating units.  They will influence Engineering, Manufacturing and Supply Chain leadership on technology and staffing choices, strategic investments and spending optimization.  The diversity of businesses and technologies create a source of constant learning and personal development for the motivated individual.


It also provides the satisfaction of seeing engineers, project managers and their leaders grow in their capability and deliver outstanding results.


Role Responsibilities

  • Develops Project Management work process capability (including capital work processes, cost, schedule and risk management) at all International sites.
  • Connects and develops technical capability across the international sites and within global engineering.
  • Supports deployment and adoption of engineering work processes – capital/project management (eg. EEM), asset care (eg. TRACC) and digital (eg. MES).
  • Provide engineering site and strategic master-planning support for International operations.
  • Works with site engineering, maintenance and leadership to aggregate Capital Budget information for International sites.  Supports site leaders, global engineering and finance in communicating and setting investment priorities.
  • Project Manager and/or Technical Lead for key projects that are either unassociated with an existing site or temporarily exceed site capability/capacity.
  • Supports recruiting and retention activities at International sites and drives toward a more diverse and inclusive workplace.
  • Is Not:
    • An additional step in the capital approval work process.
    • Site engineer for any one site


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor of Science Degree (or higher) in: Chemical, Mechanical, or Electrical Engineering .
  • At least 5 year’s work experience in FMCG, Automotive, Chemical or related field.  Preferably in a manufacturing environment.  Ideally in distilled spirits or other beverage industry.
  • Experience managing large manufacturing projects with predictable, successful outcomes.
  • Knowledge of Asset Care systems and approaches.
  • Has worked with equipment and service vendors to achieve breakthrough capability and/or value.
  • Demonstrates high attention to details.
  • Experience resolving conflicting requirements at a project and business level.  Ideally has experience successfully resolving conflicting requirements between businesses and sites.
  • Passionate about developing capability through documentation, training and one-to-one coaching.
  • Delivers results by working collaboratively with others and bring a forward-thinking and entrepreneurial spirit to the position
  • Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate (inform, persuade) clearly and concisely, both orally and written with peers and at least two levels up in the organization.  Ideally has worked in a global organizationDemonstrated ability to communicate effectively across cultures.
  • Fluent in English - required.  Fluent in Spanish and French – beneficial.
  • Travel – up to 50%.  May be located at one site for an extended (>6m) time.
