With an unrivalled portfolio of prestige spirit brands, the Business Development Prestige Director will lead the global in-market execution strategy for Scotch, transforming how and where we show up to fully realise our value creation model.

High end brands have high end expectations and this role is critical in shaping our long term strategy for executional excellence including an aligned city strategy approach; a focused channel/halo account approach; clear execution standards and ensuring our allocations are maximized through distribution, visibility and presence (DVP) in the world’s best outlets.

This role will bridge the gap between strategy and plan, leading the effort with our other Global Brand Houses (GBH) and international regional functions to build solutions/deployment and a long-term orientated culture for prestige in line with our premiumization objective.

The role will be based within our Scotch House but work closely with other GBH’s to ensure best practice and a unified approach which is easy for markets to understand and deploy as a portfolio.



Role Responsibilities

  • Lead Global executional excellence strategy, design, execution and commercialisation for Prestige Scotch, ensuring “one voice” direction for Global markets
  • Collaborate with our GBH’s to ensure a portfolio approach is maximized to the benefit of both our brands and our markets
  • Lead an aligned city strategy approach (including Global Retail Travel Channel) that will help accelerate our prestige credibility and impact for the Scotch malt whisky brands – these cities should actively build prestige as part of their broader brand and business strategy
  • Recommend a focused channel/account approach in priority cities, adopting the terminology of “halo accounts” where we create brand specific and brand dominant experiences in line with the positioning of each brand
  • Lead the management and direction of global halo accounts for Prestige Scotch, ensuring criteria and execution standards are met and tracked in line with our global metrics that matter approach
  • Ownership of the DVP strategy ensuring allocations are prioritised in line with city strategy and account approach – maximising the return from our aged and rare products
  • Lead the collaboration with commercial teams to ensure deployment with the region(s) as well as within the marketing centres of excellence across GBHs
  • Own the relationship with Key Markets, Regions and HQ on all structural Prestige Ecosystem matters​
  • Deliver a long-term broader commercial capability strategy for prestige incl. roadmap for the next 5 years


Qualifications & Experience

  • 10 years+ experience with min 5 yrs at senior level, leading capability & cultural business shifts
  • Appreciation for the full global to market RTC value chain & how to drive change via market partnerships
  • Strong appreciation for market planning & strategic thinking in market in order to embed a focus on Prestige ways of working
  • Familiarity with identifying capability & cultural gaps and developing programmes and solutions that build change over the long term
  • Experience establishing business governance behind key areas of strategic interest
