Consumer Insight Manager  

 

 

What makes this a great opportunity?

The main purpose of this role is to support the China growth agenda through improved consumer and market insights. This person will inspire and collaborate with business teams – using insights from formal research and Gemba (‘place where value is created’) understanding - to drive continued positive business change. This person will lead insights work across our portfolio of spirits and RTDs in China

 

Role Responsibilities

- Understand the alcobev landscape – especially Cognac, Whisky and RTD to identify opportunities and diagnose business challenges
- Develop and lead China insights learnings plans - identify knowledge gaps, develop and execute insights projects to address them
- Identify consumer, category, and competitive trends
- Lead all China insights workstreams – from briefing, executing projects, distilling data to insights, effective cascading to business teams and embedding in planning processes
o Examples of insights projects include consumption and brand health trackers, global segmentations, shopper and touchpoint studies, new launch mix and creative evaluation etc.
- Manage and develop external agency relationships to build internal knowledge
- Improve insights understanding, usage and capabilities of business teams
- Support annual growth planning processes with situation assessments and identification of key brand challenges and barriers
- Manage and share all China insights knowledge with local and global stakeholders
- Leverage the global and regional insights function to enhance insights development for China

 

Qualifications & Experience

- Self starter – this is a new role
- Experience with varied research methodologies - both qualitative and quantitative - and tools to answer different business questions; flexibility to adopt and learn new ones
- Ability to work with large amounts of information and distill key insights
- Passionate about deeply understanding what’s happening to tell the right data based story
- Great with tools that help i.e. Excel, data visualization, powerpoint or media based story telling
- Clear and structured in thinking and presentation
- Able to work with incomplete data and make educated assumptions and develop hypotheses
- Culturally sensitive and able to work with both local and global stakeholders

Experience and Qualifications:
- Insights professional with 7+ years of experience
- Experience on alcohol and/or beverage categories desirable
- Experience both at research agencies and in-house desirable
- Professional experience and living in China
- Proficient in both Mandarin and English
