“Unleash your spirit“ and become part of our Global Research and Development Team located in Segovia (Spain)! With immediate effect we are looking for a


Specification Specialist  




Supports Beam Suntory R&D by being the Specification Super User in Europe for liquid specifications, packaging specifications, BOM’s and training for new users. The primary focus would be to support Spain, Scotland and France.  The US Super Users would be back up, and this Super User would be back up for the US, Mexico and Canada.  In addition, support the business rules around the specifications and work with Master Data to obtain SAP numbers and SKU information.


Key Responsibilities

  • Responsible for maintaining one source of truth for everything that Beam Suntory makes, buys or sells and ensuring that the spec system stays on pace with the needs of the business without sacrificing data quality.


Additional Responsibilities

  • As a superuser of the system, set up new users, remove users, modify user accounts, reset user passwords etc.
  • Update templates to include new fields or “block” fields not in use, update/modify/create approval routings and update system documentation with any changes
  • Drive continuous improvement in data quality and in processes related to the system.
  • Collect and raise issues with other global Super Users, obtain user feedback and update system FAQ’s as needed or work with IT and vendor support for problem resolutions
  • Manage system upgrades and changes w/communication and support
  • Test modifications or enhancements prior to changing production system
  • Own the stage gate approval process for all specifications
  • Create and update business rules for naming requirements and routing requirements
  • Develop new reports for the business as required
  • Attend vendor conferences to raise issues and bring back system knowledge.
  • Run analytics on specifications and approval process
  • Conduct training on significant changes to the system


Candidate Profile


  • College/Bachelors degree preferred, technical aptitude and experience are a plus
  • 3+ years experience in similar roles such as Specification or Regulatory, experiencened in troubleshooting
  • Fluent in English and Spanish, French would preferred 
  • Knowledge of a PLM specification system
  • Knowledgeable in Excel, Word and related programs for organizing information
  • Legally able (legal drinking age) and willing to consume alcoholic beverage samples in accordance with evaluation/research needs
  • Ability to perform tasks independently and efficiently, paying close attention to detail and procedures
  • Strong communication skills in working with others, and clearly documenting work
  • Self-starter, flexible, comfortable working in unstructured fast-paced environment, in a remote team and able to manage multiple priorities effortlessly
  • Become known as the resource people can count on for efficient, effective support
  • Team player with collaborative style and good listening skills
  • Culturally sensitive and proven ability to understand and work well with others
  • Travel up to 25%
