Tax Manager  


The following position is open in São PauloBrazil.

Lead matters related to transactional taxes (such as IPI, PIS, COFINS, ICMS, ICMS-ST, ISS, PRODEPE) and ancillary obligations (such as SEF I AND II, E-DOC, EFD-ICMS/IPI, EFD-CONTRIBUTIONS, GIA, GIA-ST, DCTF, DIRF) in Brazil and review calculations to ensure accurate accounting and compliance with the applicable legislation and special regimes (ie., Pernambuco, Mina Gerais, etc.)

Monitoring of new transactions per business needs and their implementation in the system

Maintaining and communicating knowledge of past, present and potential future Brazilian indirect tax laws, regulations, rulings, procedures and court decisions that impact Beam Suntory’s business

Lead the relationship with consultants regarding direct taxation, accounting and reporting to the group

Identify tax risks and opportunities

Lead the relationship with the tax authorities (special regimes, information requirements, audits, etc.)


Role Responsibilities

Be part of the Tax Department and partner with the business to support their needs:


  • Drive continuous improvements in transactional taxes in collaboration with stakeholders
  • Support the Tax Department regarding direct taxes needs and reporting
  • Support the Transfer Pricing group regarding the application of policies and documentation obligations
  • Provide timely advice to the business on daily matters and with their relationships with the clients
  • Partner of projects in the region

  • Direct Reports:  Junior Tax Analyst


  • Key Organisational Interfaces:
    • Head of Finance Brazil
    • Financial Controller Brazil
    • Head of Supply Chain SA
    • Sales Director
    • Tax authorities and auditors
    • Members of the Global Tax Department
  • Provide decision support
  • Support other Departments (ie., Commercial Finance, Supply Chain, Controlling) on tax related matters

  • Education/Experience
    • University Degree, preferable in Law, Administration or Economics.
    • 5-year experience (in multinational companies would be a plus) in the Tax Area, managing indirect taxes and the relationship with external compliance consultants for direct taxes
    • Experience with SAP, Tax One and Mastersaf DFE will be desirable


  • Languages

Fluent in Brazilian and English languages (speaking, reading, writing). Spanish would be a plus


  • Mobility

Position is based in Sao Paulo with occasional travel.
