This position plays a critical role in connecting Sales, Brand Marketing and Regional Marketing. This position will be a natural progression and training ground for future positions in Brand Marketing, Sales or the broader Marketing team. This position reports to the Senior Marketing Manager and works closely with assigned State Manager, Channel Managers and Director of Sales.


Role Responsibilities

Duties and responsibilities include but are not limited to:

  • Program Development & Execution
    • The Marketing Manager will work closely with Regional Brand and Sales to plan and execute the highest quality programs, that will drive planned Volume, NSV, DGP, and distribution growth in Northern California.  This includes owning and driving local, regional and national programs, local marketing calendars, managing local sponsorships (i.e. MLB, MLS teams), partnerships and key strategic relationships.


  • Stakeholder Management
    • The Marketing Manager is a critical liaison between the Regional Brand, Sales, Finance & SGWS Distributor Teams.
    • Ensure sales and distributor teams are educated on consumer targets, programming and brand strategy. 
    • Manage through cross-functional partners to ensure programming is delivered on strategy, on budget and on time.
    • Key stakeholders for this role include: Field Marketing Director, Regional Brand, State Sales Team, Legal, BI Analyst, Regional Brand, Sales Team, Distributor, Sr. Marketing Manager, Sales Director, Agencies and Vendor Partners.


  • BI Management
    • This role will plan and own a large Brand Investment budget across the Beam Suntory portfolio in Northern California.
    • Partner with BI Analyst to ensure monthly forecasting is accurate and vendors are paid in a timely manner.
    • Lead BI budget review meetings with all state sales leadership team (weekly review/monthly deep dive).
    • Provide input and recommendations for all incremental programs and funding requests to maximize and track return on investment (ROI).
  • Supervisory Responsibility
    • This position will include people management. Supervisory responsibilities include but are not limited to:
      • ​​​​​​​Provide consistent training, support, and mentorship to team
      • Effective, fair, and consistent performance management
      • Fairly and consistently ensure compliance with company policies and procedures
      • Support the Proof Positive initiatives


Qualifications & Experience

  • Strong influence, communication, presentation and organizational skills a must as well as experience partnering with and managing effective cross-functional teams.
  • Strong financial acumen, organization and follow up skills
  • Bachelor's degree in Marketing or a closely related field required
  • Minimum of 5-7 years of experience in Brand, Trade, Field, or Regional Marketing required
  • Alcohol beverage industry experience preferred
  • Must be proficient in MS Office, Salesforce, and SAP  


Salary Range: The salary range for this role is a base salary of $100,000 - $130,000 based in CA, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. Salary range is commensurate with candidate’s location, experience and skillset.
