Join Suntory Global Spirits (SGS) as the Canadian Whisky Brand Ambassador and Alberta Distillers Ltd. (ADL) Specialist! In this dynamic role, you will serve as the face of our Canadian whiskies and ADL brands, collaborating closely with marketing, sales, and public relations teams to elevate product education and enhance brand awareness among consumers, retail customers, on-premise partners, and SGS employees nationwide.

 

Your responsibilities will include planning and executing engaging brand education and training events to maximize sales efforts with both trade and consumer partners. Additionally, you will manage the Canadian Club whisky artifacts from the Canadian Club Brand Heritage Centre (CCBC) in Windsor, Ontario, ensuring that the Canadian Club brand maintains a strong connection to its rich heritage.

 

This position is based in Toronto, Ontario, with strong ties to the Windsor area (CC Brand Heritage Centre) and the Calgary (Alberta Distillers Ltd.) communities.

Role Responsibilities

•    Support and drive the planning and execution of audience specific external educational programs and trade events, would include trade shows, festivals and other events. Will then communicate an evaluation of the event, and track results to determine future participation.
•    Support the development and execution of all related brand educational programs
•    Design and conduct product training for SGS Employees
•    Represent the brands with Consumer Press and Trade Press. Integrating where possible customer/consumer training and events with social media
•    Support both the sales and marketing efforts for SGS Canadian Whiskies and ADL Brands, maximizing distribution and sales objectives
•    Provide brand training, partnering with on premise accounts as well as bartenders/servers to encourage listings for SGS Canadian Whiskies and ADL brands
•    Track & communicate to the Canadian Team the latest Canadian whisky category news and trends
•    Respond to consumer and customer inquiries as required
•    Integrate as part of the local sales teams and involve them in developing ideas of how to leverage the Brand Ambassador program.  Ensure SGS Canadian whisky  products and ADL brands are top-of-mind with the Beam sales team, key liquor board partners and on-trade partners
•    Network and discover opportunities to conduct educational sessions outside the traditional trade accounts
•    Accountable for managing the Canadian Whisky ambassador budget (TE and BA marketing)
•    Work with/and among the SGS Ambassador community which may involve international events, customer/consumer distillery tours, whisky debates, distributor events. 
•    Be the curator for Canadian Club artifacts from the CCBC. This will include proper archiving of existing assets from the CCBC as well as negotiating the loan of these artifacts to key museums and heritage events across Canada. The objective of this role is to insure that Canadian Club continues to have a strong link to its heritage both within the Windsor area, Ontario and across Canada

Qualifications

•   Post Secondary diploma or degree, in business or marketing preferred
•    5+ Years work experience in any combination of: Sales, Marketing, PR, Acting, Conducting Training Seminars, Teaching, or Event Management. 
•    2+ years of public speaking or staff training (bar, restaurant or other) 
•    Media experience such as performing on video, live TV, teaching seminars to groups of 30+ people a strong asset
•    Experience in the Beverage Alcohol Industry 
•    Travel – Must be willing to travel approximately 55% of the time
•    Must be available to work evenings and weekend events
