Maker’s Mark is seeking a Sr. Manager to support the global Business Development initiatives for the brand. The ideal candidate is a passionate, curious, strategic thinker with strong organizational and interpersonal skills. As part of the team, you will be integral in propelling Bill Sr. and Margie’s vision of building Maker’s Mark in this next chapter of its legacy.
Role Responsibilities
This exciting role will support the brand's growth, ensuring the right portfolio mix and commercial strategy are implemented in our key markets worldwide. The right candidate will possess strong project management, leadership, and analytical skills while driving for results rigorously. They will display the ability to effectively influence and communicate cross-functionally with all levels of the organization. In addition, this person will thrive in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment, be a self-starter, and have experience managing different initiatives simultaneously.
You will support global brand initiatives and innovation strategy while identifying, measuring, and sharing best practices that inspire continuous improvement for our market partners. The successful individual will work with Senior Stakeholders across the business to ensure our brand experiences are deployed in line with our global strategic guidance, putting the consumer at the heart of everything we do. They will ensure that all activity and brand-related business plan components are as effective as possible, ensuring our P&L remains strong. The successful individual will interface with the brand house, commercial, finance, RGM, and supply chain teams, focusing on fostering excellent working relationships. This specific role will focus on the following:
ROLE DESCRIPTION:
This unique opportunity will positively contribute to the growth of the iconic Maker’s Mark Bourbon Brand. The ideal candidate has a strategic commercial background and wants to gain a global view while sharpening their business acumen. You will
- Work closely with the Sr. Director and Sr. Advocacy Manager to support the mid-long-term execution of the brand.
- Be integral to our globalization efforts, supporting and refining growth in our largest markets, while aiding growth in emerging markets.
- Be central to our allocation strategy, ensuring we are fueling growth and our premiumization agenda.
- Be an expert at influencing and engaging stakeholders, drawing on your experience and collaborative leadership style.
- Partner across teams to ensure the readiness of critical milestones are met on time and within budget.
- Identify risks/opportunities to market expansion, perform necessary due diligence, and socialize changes to stakeholders, applying creative problem-solving and escalating as needed.
KEY ACCOUNTABILITIES:
- Provide updates on market expansion plans for key meetings to drive strategic alignment and executional excellence.
- Develop and lead the launch plans for innovation per our global strategy. Leading the deployment of best-in-class release plans in partnership with central, digital, and advocacy teams.
- Build an efficient reporting system from multiple sources to conduct regular analyses that deliver business insights/key learnings to help influence the path forward.
- You will monitor and identify category, portfolio, brand , and competitive trends, actively investigating the root causes for performance (good and bad) to correct or accelerate accordingly.
- Collaborate on quarterly business reviews updating the leadership team on the market developments, category environment, portfolio, and programs.
- Drive 3 year planning cycle
- In collaboration with our Finance partners, identify and support the implementation of Revenue Growth Management (RGM) Initiatives.
- You will be the Brand House lead for our S&OP Process, helping to refine and improve on an ongoing basis.
- Work with our Global Digital team to steward the brand's digital agenda in our key markets while monitoring key metrics to equip our Central team to improve brand experiences and assets.

- Strong organizational skills with a resilient, solutions-oriented, positive "can do" mental attiude.
- An insatiable curiosity with the ability to use this to develop and strengethen ideas. A desire to own projects, drive change and keep key stakeholders invested and connected.
- A self- starter who can manage multiple priorities effortlessly. Is proactive and has a proven track record of working independently.
- Ability to operate clearly and effectively under pressure in a fast- paced business environment.
- Proactive to conflict resolution as working is geographically fragmented in a highly matrixed environment.
- Proven superb project management skills.
KEY RELATIONSHIPS:
- Internal: Maker’s Mark Global Brand House, Advocacy lead, Global and Central Finance teams, Global Strategy, Market Leads, Distillery Operations Leadership team, Insights, and Supply Chain
- External: 3rd party distributor teams
Experience & Qualifications:
- 5+ years in a Local, Regional, or Global Marketing or Strategy based role.
- Proven experience managing multi-dimensional projects with multiple inputs and outputs in Spirits or other consumer-led categories.
- Track record of cross-functional team leadership and generating motivation/enthusiasm for innovations and other projects.
- Empathetic people skills with the ability to communicate effectively in a multicultural, cross-functional organization.
Salary Range: The salary range for this role, based in New York is $140,000 to $152,000.
This role can be located in the Madrid, London, or New York offices.
