Privacy Technologist

We are seeking a skilled and experienced Privacy Technologist to join our Digital Marketing team in a managerial role. As the Privacy Technologist, you will be responsible for ensuring compliance with privacy regulations as well as guiding the implementation of privacy practices and policies through our digital and consumer technologies. Your expertise will play a crucial role in safeguarding our people data and building trust with our consumers.
Role Responsibilities
Privacy Technology Strategy and Compliance
- Partner with the Global Privacy team to:
- implement a comprehensive privacy strategy aligned with organizational goals and industry best practices;
- manage the submission of privacy impact, vendor, and storage asset assessments through the internal privacy review process; and
- apply BSI privacy and data protection requirements to assist Global Digital stakeholders with assessing privacy compliance for their products, activations, projects, and digital transformation efforts.
Privacy Policies and Procedures
- Partner with the Global Privacy team to ensure that privacy policies and procedures are accurately translated through our technologies, aligned with our current practices, and applicable regulations.
- Engage with IT and Information Security to ensure that the necessary security protocols are in place and that all personal data is processed throughout its lifecycle in a secure manner and documented.
Privacy-by-Design for Digital Marketing Initiatives
- Work closely with cross-functional teams, including digital marketers, developers, and data analysts, to embed privacy principles into digital marketing practices and technologies.
- Partner with the Global Privacy team to provide guidance throughout the development and implementation of digital initiatives/campaigns, ensuring privacy compliance and data protection throughout the process.
- Partner with Global Privacy and Information Security teams to advise on secure data collection and storage practices, appropriate consent mechanisms, data minimization, and lawful processing of consumer data.
- Provide technology implementation recommendations to mitigate risks and enhance privacy controls.
Data Subject Rights and Incident Management
- Support in the execution of data subject rights requests, including access, rectification, erasure, and objection, in compliance with relevant privacy regulations.
- Collaborate with IT and security teams to implement technical controls and safeguards to protect consumer data and mitigate potential privacy and data protection risks.
Consumer Privacy Advocacy and Stakeholder Engagement
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including Privacy, Legal, Compliance, and Communications, to provide privacy technology-related guidance for marketing materials and campaigns.
- Conduct training sessions for Global Digital teams on the importance of data privacy and how to maintain compliance with applicable laws and internal data privacy policies and procedures.
- Monitor industry developments, participate in privacy forums, and contribute to the advancement of privacy practices within the organization.
Qualifications
- Bachelor's degree in computer science, information systems, privacy law, or a related field.
- Extensive experience in privacy management, data protection, or a related role, preferably within the digital or consumer marketing.
- Strong knowledge of global privacy regulations and frameworks, such as GDPR, CCPA, and ePrivacy.
- Familiarity with digital marketing technologies and platforms, including web analytics, advertising technologies, and customer data platforms (CDPs).
- Demonstrated experience in conducting privacy impact assessments (PIAs) and implementing privacy-by-design principles.
- Excellent understanding of data subjects' rights and experience managing data subject requests.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to assess privacy risks and provide practical solutions.
- Professional certifications related to privacy, such as CIPP/T, CIPP/US, CIPP/E or CIPM, are highly desirable.
Salary Range
The salary range for this role is a base salary of $105,000- $125,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. Salary range is commensurate with candidate’s location, experience and skillset.
