What makes this a great opportunity?
The Finance Manager provides an opportunity for an established, commercially-oriented finance professional to play a key role in the continued growth of Beam Suntory’s brands. Based in New York, reporting to the Finance Director CV, HOS, Gin, FP&A and Digital, the successful candidate will support the Finance Director with quantitative and qualitative analysis to drive the long-term growth and premiumization strategy for the brand house. The Finance Manager will drive financial forecasting and performance through high quality decision support including overall P&L, sales and margin management, free cash flow, ROIC, and digital transformation in a finance point of view.
The role will provide finance business partnership to the Brand Houses team. Specifically, the Finance Manager has responsibility to deliver the following:
- Analyze the House financials forecasting and performance to deliver the long-term brand house ambition (Strategic Plan, Budget, Performance and on-going Risks & Opportunities)
- Understand the key business drivers and dynamics of key markets to provide quality comments on 12YP delivery, assess on major deviations vs. plan and collaborate with PBMCs on potential corrective measures, specially the pricing agenda
- Lead House Planning, Forecasting and Reporting Calendar ensuring all deliverables from Key Markets to the House are made on time, accurate and in the most efficient way (including templates and consolidation files)
- Support the assessment and deployment of the innovation pipeline to enhance brand value growth and evaluate levers to maximize current brand profitability
- Coordinate Allocation process to max out Revenue realization and profitability, aligned with long term brand strategy and interact with Operation/ SC team
- Support/ control over BI budget and management
- Work as a true business partner for the House leadership team and finance function for ad-hoc projects and analysis
- Drive continuous improvement to achieve best in class analytics and finance support.
Role Responsibilities
- Make key financial decisions on development of long-term brand house plan, strategic plan, annual budget, etc. (forecasting)
- Drive financial performance through high quality decision support including overall P&L, sales and margin management, free cash flow and ROIC (annual performance & reporting)
- Drive financial recommendation for projects initiated by brand teams, including new product launches, LTOs, size extensions, re-design, DTV, discontinuations (innovations & brand architecture)
- Enhance liquid optimization aligned with long term strategy and build strategic liquid market prioritization based on 12YP (Liquid optimization & Allocations)
- Coordinate BI management
- Maintain financial reporting integrity and control across the brand house
- Coordinate with Digital team to guarantee we are well resourced to take financial decisions, especially in Capital Committee
Qualifications & Experience
- Prior P&L management experience
- Ability to strategize and solve problems
- Excellent communication and people skills
- An analytical mind, exceptional with the numbers
- Strong and proactive business results-focus, and proven ability to provide insights that increase business volume and profit
- Good business acumen and understanding of strategy, competitive dynamics, pricing strategies, customer economics, brand building economics, ROI concepts
- Demonstrated ability to manage multiple stage projects to their completion
- Considering the relative costs and benefits of potential actions to choose the most appropriate one
- Integrity, job requires being honest and ethical.
- Monitoring/Assessing performance of yourself, other individuals, or organizations to make improvements or take corrective action.
- Top-rate commercial financial or strategic professional with a minimum of 8 years of progressive financial leadership with proven record of increasing responsibility scopes, and successful and effective financial planning or strategic planning
- Undergraduate degree in finance or another business-related field. Accreditations such as CPA, CFA and/or advanced degree.
- Experience as a financial leader in a multinational/global company environment, preferably with premium global brands of scale across developed and emerging markets
- Strong operational experience: preferable with prior P&L experience in a region or segment of a consumer facing business would be ideal.
- Knowledge of corporate finance and risk management practices
- Excellent knowledge of data analysis and forecasting methods
- Experience in leading a geographically diverse team
- Excellent financial and strategic modelling and control process design abilities
- Champions continuous improvement and innovation
Salary Range
The salary range for this role is a base salary of $96,000-$115,000 along with an annual bonus, 401k match, profit sharing and health & wellness benefits. Salary range is commensurate with candidate’s experience, skill set and location.
