As a champion of the James B. Beam Distilling Co., the American Whiskey Ambassador main objective is to design and conduct educational experiences for our top trade partners as well as consumers. Focused primarily on the Small Batch Collection & Prestige/Super Premium American Whiskey Products, the Ambassador works with the Trade Engagement & Advocacy team, on premise, brand managers and marketing partners to continuously strengthen James B Beam Distilling Co. as an exciting legacy brand within the American Whiskey category. Their ultimate priority is to curate quality educational opportunities, events and on premise trade partnerships that position the JBBDCo as the premier American Whiskey distillery, strengthened by 8 generations of family history.
Role Responsibilities
- Be a champion of the One On Premise Mantra!
- Planning and execution of Trade Training and Seminars i.e., brand specific training, cocktail demonstrations and categorical education for full portfolio and LTOs
- Curation of consumer events i.e., whiskey dinners, tastings, cocktail demonstrations etc.
- Participation in Spirit Festivals / Cocktail Seminars i.e., TOTC, Whiskey Fest etc.
- Execute launch events for LTOs in key markets
- Support Sr JBBDCo BA & JBBDCo BA team in creating original, trade focused programming
- Assist with Barrel Selection education and experiences both on site and remotely
- Planning and execution of internal training for Beam Suntory employees to ensure up-to-date education on brand history, LTO knowledge, brand messaging and family history
- Encourage use and execution of appropriate cocktail strategies for both trade and consumers
- Participate in Distillery Immersion at JBBDCo to ensure most relevant training on distillery operations
- Educate Distributor Partners through General Sales Meeting presentations / tastings
- Participate in weekly, monthly, quarterly and annual Advocacy and On-Premise meetings as scheduled
- Continue categorical learning through internal resources (MySU) and external resources
- Occasional support of high impact, premium, off premise opportunities
- Appropriately manage budgets allocated for travel, events and market support
- Manage calendars
- Manage expectations across multiple stakeholders
Qualifications & Experience
- Role is New York Based with <25% travel
- Organized self-starter
- Positive “we over me” team attitude

- Ability to Work Nights and Weekends when/if Necessary
- >5 years Hospitality Experience or >2 years of Advocacy Experience
- Natural storyteller
- Working Knowledge of Classic and Contemporary Cocktails
- Existing Network of NYC (New York City) Trade Contacts
Salary Range: The salary range for this role is a base salary of $75,000 - $87,400 based in NY, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. Salary range is commensurate with candidate’s location, experience and skillset.
