What makes this a great opportunity?

The core purpose of the Pricing Strategy role will be to support the Global Brand Houses in the ongoing development of global, long-term pricing strategy. This role will support the Brand Houses and work closely with regional Revenue Management teams. This function will ultimately drive profitable, sustainable growth through thought leadership and business partnership by influencing pricing, promotion and trade spend strategies.

Role Responsibilities

To help Global Brand Houses in the development and establishment of long-term pricing strategies for their brands transferring qualitative and quantitative brand strategies and objectives into pricing guidelines and providing valuable feedback when needed to support the premiumization journey of our brands through value creation.

 

  • Collaborate cross functionally to establish and annually review long term pricing guidelines in line with Brand Strategies for Global use, including brand roles and architecture and competitive positioning.
  • Develop and/or improve promotional guidelines as part of the pricing strategies in collaboration with RGM teams to optimize the efficiency of our brand strategies
  • Identify brand trends and recommend future price changes both in terms of headline & promotional pricing
  • Collaborate closely with RGM teams to share with them the long-term pricing strategies and make sure they recommend to the markets short-term movements aligned with the long-term brand objectives
  • Collaborate with the Analytics CoE to get elasticities and insightful analysis for our brands and incorporate those insights in the analysis and development of the long-term pricing strategies
  • Develop pricing strategies for innovation products in alignment with the Brand Houses and RGM teams. Actively participate in the innovation process completing tasks, assisting to meetings and setting up meetings as needed with Brand House teams and/or RGM teams and markets to ensure good alignment and communication of the pricing guidelines of the new products
  • Support the development of a process to properly implement the pricing and promotional principles and thresholds and collaborate with Regional RGM teams to support defining processes and Ways of Working including the pricing strategy role within Portfolio Review Meetings
  • Get involved in the development and implementation of pricing trackers as needed. Check regularly to ensure pricing guidelines are followed and otherwise elevate as necessary
  • Create insights on global white space opportunities
  • Work with Finance Directors to help manage allocations and maximize profitability and with Strategy Directors to be up to date on brand strategies and possible impact in the pricing strategies development
  • Work with Global Brand Houses to complete ad-hoc analysis as required

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s Degree in Economics, Finance or related; MBA preferred but not required
  • 4-7 years’ experience in Pricing or Revenue Management. Alternatively, financial analysis or marketing insights. FMCG experience is preferred
  • Power point Presentation experience (including preparation and tailoring delivery to audience)
  • Proficiency with Windows and MS Office including advanced knowledge of Excel
  • Strong language skills, ability to communicate complex ideas effectively in written & spoken English
  • Ability to work on your own initiative and also as part of a team. Strong collaborative spirit and willingness to find alignments to get the work done. Flexible and adaptable in their approach.
  • Ability to work effectively with people at all levels in an organization
  • Strong analytical and organizational skills - effectively manage & manipulate data to create actionable insights
  • Ability to work on multiple projects and prioritize tasks
  • Self-starter, curiosity, desire and ability to think beyond surface level, dive deeper into analysis and data
  • Desire to understand the key drivers of our commercial business performance and how we can improve them.
  • Cultural awareness & good interpersonal skills. Confident to express their own opinions within group or team environment
