  • You will successfully network across all Brand Houses and Markets within our region, playing an integral role in leading, guiding and collaborating to drive the successful development of the region’s innovation plans
  • As a new role, this will offer the opportunity for someone to define where the most value can be added and then shape the role and focus areas accordingly
  • You will play a pivotal role in realizing BSI’s potential with key customer groups and in emerging/growth channels (e-Commerce, GTR) – by delivering custom, brand-building solutions to address consumer needs

 

Role Responsibilities

Mission

 

Reporting to the General Manager, International Marketing this role will play a vital part in driving our global/international brand strategies through close collaboration with brand houses and international markets.  Lead the innovation effort for all local and regional brands and support global brand house innovation roll-out to all OBMC/LBMC (local and ‘other’ brand market combinations) business units. Collaborate with Brand Houses to drive and ensure the coordination of overall innovation within the international region. Lead the development of Innovation Guidance for the International region, identifying the role of innovation within market-types, and how to maximize ROI and facilitate brand growth.  Deliver customer- and channel-specific innovation opportunities in the region in partnership with global Brand House teams.

 

Specifically, the role will:

 

  • Establish Innovation thought leadership and oversee best practices for the International region
  • Oversee all local and regional brand innovation efforts – partnering with appropriate market teams on market insights mining, opportunity sizing, concept development and qualifying, commercialization plan & management, pipeline development, best practice sharing, and SC needs/optimization (project examples include Spain DYC premiumization pipeline, EMEA RTD innovation strategy, etc.)
  • Create and align on standardized international processes for feeding the Seed to Sip stage gate process and the flow of info to key regional stakeholders
  • Lead the bi-annual strategic innovation review pipeline session for International Region, coordinating with Brand House Innovation accordingly
  • Proxy for VP Marketing in stage gate approval process, where required
  • Supply VP Marketing with insight into the bi-monthly stage gate meeting, providing visibility on project progress for ILT and coordinating cross-functionally to answer resultant questions
  • Drive comms across SCCMs and project managers to clarify/align inputs to the process
  • Collaborate with Insights, Markets, and Brand House resources to mine relevant insights, identify customer-/channel-specific innovation opportunities, support development & qualification of concepts, commercialize, and support launch / post-launch
  • Develop and socialise an optimized Innovation/VAP cascade process flowing to and from Seed to Sip process
  • Connect/engage International FP&A for Innovation support and decision-making as required
  • Attend BH Innovation initiative sessions and support (raise flag if necessary) on project issues
  • Support annual Growth Planning process from an Innovation POV
  • Develop and drive rigour in a post launch review process, and assure appropriate functions (Finance, Demand Planning) learn from results and improve future project estimates

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Degree educated (we will also consider alternative routes)
  • 10+ years’ experience
  • Experience of marketing and in particular leading innovation and innovation processes is essential
  • International experience desirable
  • Strong communication and experience in cross-functional / cross-markets / cross-brands project management
  • Ability to navigate effectively, influence and thrive in a culturally diverse matrix structure, and maintain healthy working relationships
  • Ability to create an environment where everyone can be at their best, championing an inclusive and outperformance culture
  • Ability to anticipate and identify the need for change and in then championing and leading change
