Finance Manager - Credit & Collections

  • Maximize Beam Suntory International’s cash flow and liquidity proactively managing collections to minimize overdues and eliminate any risk of loss.
  • Accountable for the entire credit process, including the consistent application of the Global Credit Policy, periodic credit reviews of existing customers and the assessment of the creditworthiness of potential customers.

 

Role Responsibilities

Responsibilities

As leader of the International Credit & Collection team, he/she will:

  • Maintain independence and separation between International markets and the application of the Global Credit Policy. Abide by the policy always. Recommend changes to GBS leadership as the business rapidly evolves in terms of geographies, routes to market and complexity. Ensure standardization globally.
  • Maintain an organizational structure adequate to meet and exceed market needs. Ensure service delivery is key focus for the International Credit & Collections team.
  • Bring together a credit and collections team so they are engaged and deliver their yearly objectives.
  • Support and/or lead regional and global projects where required.
  • Provide ongoing training for team members and market-based teams, particularly Commercial.
  • Ensure customer credit files are religiously maintained, monitor the credit granting / updating process. Accept or reject recommendations in a timely manner. Escalate issues promptly where required.
  • Establish an effective efficient process so that A&P deductions form part of the international Credit & Collections teams day to day deliverables.
  • Manage relations with collection agencies, credit reporting agencies and credit insurance providers
  • Manage relations with the market-based Finance Directors, key Commercial stakeholders any other key stakeholders across multiple locations.
  • Never accept the status-quo. Look to influence GBS leadership with transformational agendas, fostering change and implementation of best practice.
  • Maintain a rock-solid control environment. Support internal and external audits as needed.
  • Regularly review team performance leveraging GBS KPIs and course correct where required.

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • 8 to 10 years Finance experience gained in a matrix MNC and/or business finance/accounting/controlling experience.
  • Degree and/or Master’s in Finance / Accounting / Business.
  • Hands-on work experience with managing companies’ cash and receivables is considered a must.
  • Strong project experience, transformations and technology implementation.
  • Fluent in English; other languages will be an advantage
  • Multicultural, well-versed in dealing with diverse customers’ base and stakeholders as well as ability to work well with cross-functional teams.
  • Exceptional people management skills 360 degrees and prior experience in managing teams in offshore and remote locations.
  • Emerging markets (Brazil, Middle East and Africa,) multi-cultural experience a must.
