SHP Bartender  

The following position is open in Loretto Kentucky, United States. This position will be based at the Maker’s Mark distillery which is approximately 20 miles south of Bardstown, KY

Role Responsibilities

• The distillery bartender will work with the public, VIP’s and trade bringing to life the distillery cocktail program and global drinks strategy through cocktail and whisky recommendations
• Bartender and drinks spokesperson for special distillery events.
• Daily set-up and breakdown of the bars
• Work closely with bar backs to restock and replenish inventory during service
• Comply with all food and beverage regulations
• Other Duties as assigned by Manager or F&B Manager.
• Support drinks program through training staff on techniques, speed of service and Bar cleanliness.
• Verify identification + age requirements of customers visiting the bars on campus
• Weekend work required to meet business needs
• Host ticketed cocktail workshops and the MadeAtMaker’s experiences including set-up and clean-up.

Qualifications & Experience

• Strong presentation and storytelling skills, with ability to be entertaining while educating
• Minimum of 2 years’ experience working in a bar/restaurant with established cocktail program
• Good knowledge of classic and modern classic cocktails
• Competent at round building and multiple order taking when busy
• Positive Attitude
• Genuine passion and knowledge for Bourbon, Whisky, and all things Kentucky
• Ability to think on your feet
• Friendly, outgoing personality with guests and your team
• Enthusiastic and magnetic personality with ability to communicate with various demographics of people
• Strong public skills, ability to communicate and engage with large groups of people

• Experience in tourism or hospitality related field
