What makes this a great opportunity?

Based on Islay and working alongside a passionate team of individuals across our Beam Suntory sites on Islay, the Housekeeper role ensures the smooth operation of house-keeping duties to allow a world class customer experience to be delivered. 


Along with a team of housekeeping staff, you will support and ensure the cleanliness and presentation of accommodation and public areas across the Bowmore Estate and supporting departments across the Bowmore Estate, Bowmore Distillery and Visitor Centre and Laphroaig Distillery and Visitor Centre.  


Role Responsibilities


  • Daily cleaning of hotel  

  • Servicing of rooms daily in the hotel 

  • Turnover of cottages 

  • Laundry 

  • Ensuring H&S checks are completed as scheduled – legionella, Fire Safety, etc 

  • Reporting monthly meter readings 

  • Ordering consumable items for the rooms – e.g. slippers, soap, coffee, etc. 

  • Updating the team board with relevant hand over information 

  • Attending team meetings and leading team projects as required 

  • Accepting and organising deliveries 

  • Updating and maintaining the contractor log – calling in contractors as required for general repairs and maintenance 

  • Suggesting and implementing continual improvements to enhance the customer experience 


Qualifications & Experience


  • Drive and passion for delivering excellent customer service and experience. 

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a “can do” attitude. 

  • Proven ability to work on own initiative and to build and maintain excellent relationships with key stakeholders 

  • Strong drive with high levels of energy, focus and ambition

  • Previous experience within the hospitality, retail and/or tourism sector is desirable  

  • Previous housekeeping experience is desirable 

  • Basic computer skills required
