Role Responsibilities

  • To fully lead Luxury & Technical Quality in Springburn, including incoming inspections, luxury dry goods, luxury finished goods, technical supplier specifications and supplier audit / development.
  • To fully support and follow the Company's Integrated Management System to meet the needs of our external compliance requirements.
  • Full autonomy to manage and continually improve all Luxury & Technical Quality processes.
  • To ensure “Best In Class”, compared to other Beam Suntory sites
  • Responsible for overall quality of the end-to-end luxury manufacturing and supplier development processes in the Springburn plant.
  • Ensure effective execution of quality assurance process are followed and updated on an ongoing basis on site and at suppliers
  • Effectively manage food safety risks, support internal department to fully adhere to current practices
  • Ensure quality issues both internal and external are dealt with in a timely manner, thereby protecting and improving brand image.
  • Ensure Ouality actions, Non-conformances, Supplier Non-Conformances, Complaints, are on track to agreed targets.
  • Promotes Continuous Improvement in all areas of the business, showing a proactive approach.
  • Ensure Right First-Time measurement is in place and in control along with Supplier RFT
  • Ensure use of data is established to drive the next improvement and can be presented.
  • Ensures compliance with all relevant legislation, policies and procedures by supporting in auditing systems and procedures.
  • Sharing and adoption of learning from other facilities (internal and external benchmarking, etc.).
  • Fully support any change in process or product, this includes New Product Development

Role Responsibilities (Cont.)

  • Maintain the success of the overall plant operation by empowering employees to meet the safety, quality, and production requirements.
  • Works with NPD as part of core teams for product refreshes and new product introduction
  • Works with Procurement as part of a core team on assessing new suppliers through auditing of suppliers premises and practices
  • Works with engineering in supporting new equipment and line efficiency projects without compromising quality
  • Lead the Inspection Team to assess all incoming luxury components.
  • Lead the inspection team to assess risk based incoming inspections of standard products.
  • Support and cover for the Operational Quality Manager.
  • Manage / investigate all luxury supplier defects and luxury customer complaints.
  • Deputise for Quality Director in their absence.

Qualifications

  • Minimum of five (5) years' experience in a Quality Management role or equivalent
  • Previous experience of a Quality Manager role in the bottled spirits business is preferred.
  • Green Belt and working knowledge of TRACC desirable
  • Technical working knowledge of glass, cardboard, label manufacturing techniques (ISO 22000 or BRC standards).
  • HACCP level 3 trained preferred
  • Experience in successfully leading a HACCP Team
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills, with ability to build strong relationships cross functionally.
  • Strong experience in supplier management
  • Demonstrable project management skills and auditing experience.
  • Proven knowledge of Quality and Integrated Management systems.
  • Experience of progressing Quality & Food Safety Culture, through on site Quality leadership
  • Extended experience executing continuous improvement initiatives in manufacturing or industrial environments
  • Excellent communication skills both Oral and Written
