Data Quality Analyst  

 

 

What makes this a great opportunity?

Commercial data quality manager is responsible for ensuring that the commercial data used by their organization, captured from customers/distributors/market research companies/syndicated data providers -> makes commercial sense , is accurate, consistent, and complete. She/he commonly works with a variety of different internal departments and external data suppliers/mappers to identify gaps in data quality or inconsistencies between systems/sources (SAP/TPM/Nielsen/GDAT/Customers systems). 

 

Data quality manager will also be responsible for developing a roadmap to improve data quality across the entire organization, will promote solutions to capture commercial data from different parties. This might include creating new policies or procedures for collecting and storing data, training employees on how to properly enter data into databases, defining data requirements captured from trade partners/syndicated data providers. 

 

Role Responsibilities

  1. Develops a commercial data quality strategy/roadmap that aligns with an organization’s goals and objectives 

  1. Reviews data sets, deliveries etc. to ensure that they are accurate and complete 

  1. Conducts research to identify trends in data quality issues in order to develop solutions for potential problems 

  1. Creates data dictionaries that define data terminology used within an organization 

  1. Recommends changes in data storage methods to improve efficiency and accuracy 

  1. Creates reports that detail data quality issues and resolutions for senior management review 

  1. Monitors data quality to ensure that it remains consistent over time 

  1. Coordinates reviews of  information technology systems to ensure that data is being stored correctly 

  1. Analyzes data quality issues to determine their cause and impact on the organization 

  1. Leads commercial data governance 

  1. Defines requirements for commercial data in terms of integrity, validity, security and usability  

  1. Promotes best practices  in terms of data confidentiality, access restrictions, data accuracy and master data management 

  1. Drives efficiencies in cross-functional data-flow (between systems/processes/functions) 

  2. Identifies/develops sources of data for KPIs tracking 

  3. Ensures consistency and comparability of data in KPIs tracking 

  1. Communicates effectively with key business partners from sales, marketing, finance, IT, demand planning 

  1. Leads trainings & presentations regarding commercial data quality for internal & external customers 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

  1. Experience: Minimum 3-5 years of sales, marketing, and/or financial analysis experience 

 

Practical skills: 

  1. broad experience and a proven track record of managing data (and processes) with customer engagement technologies is essential, including one or more enterprise level CRM e.g. Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce  

  1. strong experience of Microsoft Office (Advanced level excel skills) and document management system customer engagement technologies, including one or more enterprise level CRM e.g. Oracle, Microsoft Dynamics, Salesforce is essential. Has experience with Power-BI (developed reports with links to different data sources).

  2. Has worked in a commercial surrounding for min. 2 years to understand the commercial context, purpose, targets etc. data are used and applied

  1. technically literate (SQL and Python or R) with an understanding of database and schema design 

  1. strong analytical experience utilizing Excel, Tableau and CPG, food, and beverage industry standard tools 

  1. possesses knowledge of the industry /market in which analyses are conducted 

  1. must be able to understand and analyze data, synthesizing large volumes of data into meaningful and concise reports and actionable findings 

  2. Strong language skills fluent in written & spoken German and English.
