Category Development Manager

This is role is essential to deliver on our Commercial Marketing agenda, helping us to bring our 2030 vision to life by deliver strong category growth reflecting consumer, shopper, channel & customer dynamics.
Furthermore, it gives the opportunity to work cross functional and internationally with Sales, Marketing & Trade Marketing.
Role Responsibilities
- • Team Lead function with responsibility to develop insights-driven channel & category strategies & to identify priority areas per channel / customers
• Translate insights (market, category, and shopper data) into actionable recommendations which will inspire customers to implement our initiatives and establish Beam Suntory as a category management partner for the trade
• Deliver a strong category growth story reflecting consumer, shopper, channel and customer dynamics
• Define category growth opportunities and main drivers based on shopper data, customer needs and consumer demand moments
• Lead the omni-channel category strategy development process with key internal stakeholders and ensures clear linkage between the business strategy, brand, channel, and customer strategy
• Understand shopper and retail landscape, channel dynamics and prioritize customers based on insights and must win battles
• Develop channel solutions and contribute to build commercially aligned business cases and key initiatives that address the opportunity for future channel growth leveraging our category strategies
• Support the Key Account for customer presentations and deliver business recos based on performing ad hoc analysis & strategic priorities
• You are responsible for the assortment recommendations internally (core assortment) and externally
• Actively exchange and build customer relationships around category management.
• Work together with international colleagues to lead the local implementation of international shopper study result
Qualifications & Experience
- • University degree in business administration, economics or similar
• Min. 3-5 years of working experience in channel or/and category management position (experience in sales is an advantage) in an international consumer goods organization
• Strong analytical and strategic mindset to transform insights into relevant customer & category reasonings for the business.
• You work in a structured and results-oriented way and are at the same time a great team player with strong collaborative approach - to lead, build, drive and inspire
• You bring great communication skills and show that you are flexible and highly motivated
• You have great ability to influence cross-functional teams both internally and externally
• GS1 Certification would be a plus
• Fluent (spoken & written) in German and English
