Role Responsibilities

  • Manages performance related supplier sustainability data collection, data systems, validation, and reporting for BSI’s various supplier sustainability initiatives and programs.
  • Ensures supplier sustainability data integrity and consistency over multiple databases/applications.
  • Prepares KPI reports (progress toward goals). Conducts research and analysis to provide key performance insights.
  • Is a member of BSI’s Global Procurement and Global Environmental & Sustainability Teams and is an active participant in their activities.
  • Communicates KPI and status reports to suppliers, BSI, and Suntory after alignment with Procurement and Environment & Sustainability Senior Leadership.
  • Escalates potential risks (or concerns) that may impact EHS, quality, engineering (technical content), and/or financial/business performance.
  • Direct interface with other SHD related businesses for Best Practice sharing and development within BSI.
  • Identifies, drives, and leads improvements for supplier sustainability for the entire value chain (enterprise-wide, Direct, Indirect, Marketing, etc.) to ensure alignment with BSI & Suntory Sustainability strategies.
  • Collaborates with Procurement Leads to identify opportunities and priorities to drive and implement supplier sustainability improvements. Aligns with Leads for routing and approval of sustainability agreements to be executed.
  • Works directly with suppliers and Procurement leads on CI efforts with supplier performance metrics.
  • Gathers data from other functions to be used in reporting and coordinates periodic reporting for the Global Procurement function.
  • Coordinates and maintains an overview of supplier sustainability performance evaluations required to periodically verify conformance to BSI’s requirements.
  • Coordinates and maintains an overview of sustainability goods and service agreements that are in progress or planned to be negotiated and defined.
  • Connects with and requests/coordinates support from corporate and Procurement in order to build knowledge and gain expertise in the design and implementation of sustainability initiatives.
  • Supports the Procurement team with administration and coordination of operational processes such as contracting and performance evaluations for Sustainability Goods & Services. Also provides support in populating contract templates for certain sustainability sourcing initiatives and supplier negotiations.
  • Monitors market dynamics and reports sustainability risks and opportunities.
  • Other duties as assigned.


Qualifications & Experience

  • A Bachelor’s Degree or equivalent experience in Business Administration, and/or Supply Chain Management required.
  • A minimum of 5 years experience in Purchasing/Procurement and related roles in various business-to-business environments strongly preferred. Experience in the beverage industry strongly preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years progressive industry experience with Supplier Scope 3 carbon calculations, reduction roadmaps, internal and external reporting strongly preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years progressive industry experience with Supplier water conservation, reduction roadmaps, water reuse and replenishment programs, and internal and external reporting strongly preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years progressive industry experience with Supplier sustainable farming and forestry programs and internal and external reporting preferred.
    • A minimum of 3 years progressive industry experience with Supplier sustainable packaging programs and recycling/reuse programs, and internal and external reporting preferred.
  • Must be fluent in English for both positions; A second language in Spanish, French, German, or Italian is a plus for the position in Spain, but is not required. Ability to communicate clearly and concisely, both orally and written, and explain technical concepts or innovations to technical and non-technical employees.
  • Advanced computer skills (PowerPoint, Excel, online meeting software, web-based KPI reporting software) and expert PowerPoint presentation development and delivery preferred.
