Reporting to the Senior Manager, Supplier Sustainability, the Manager, will support the coordination and execution of our Global Supplier Sustainability initiatives inclusive of our Human Rights/Sedex reporting requirements. 

Role Responsibilities

Supplier Sustainability (60%)
•    Data Collection and Analysis: Collect and analyze supplier data required to report against SGS’s Nature+ initiatives and legal requirements. This includes supplier’s scope 1, 2, and 3 GHG emissions, energy usage, recycled content percentage, and recyclability assessment. 
•    Data Consolidation: Consolidate and verify packaging material, raw material and purchased alcohol volumes and weight data to be utilized within SGS’s methodology. 
•    Category Strategy Support: Assist Category Managers in integrating sustainability into category strategies and ensure they have the necessary tools for this purpose. 
•    EUDR Compliance: Support the implementation, management, and execution of European Union Deforestation Regulation reporting requirements. Assist in the development of management systems for traceability, verification, and due diligence across the supply chain to meet EUDR requirements.
•    Sustainable Agreements: Partner with the Sourcing Center of Excellence to maintain an overview of sustainable wording in goods and service agreements that are in progress or planned to be negotiated and defined.
•    Supplier Performance Evaluations: Coordinates and maintains an overview of supplier sustainability performance evaluations required to verify compliance with SGS’s requirements periodically. 
•    Engagement Strategies: Support the execution of engagement strategies, programs, and initiatives with selected SGS suppliers for reduction and external requirements 
•    Logistics Training: Develops and trains logistics team members to deploy supplier engagement strategy for US & International logistics carriers.
•    Supplier Maturity Survey: Launches the annual supplier maturity survey through the data management system and completes scoring for priority carriers aligned with tenders.
•    Business Reviews: Participates in quarterly business reviews for global freight forwarders and domestic tenders.
•    Smartway Submissions: Manages the US Smartway submission with consultant support.
•    Innovation in Logistics: Seeks out innovation in logistics sustainability.
•    Progress Monitoring: Monitors and tracks progress of category managers and suppliers toward development goals and targets. Maintain priority supplier list.

Human Rights (30%)

  • SEDEX Membership: Help drive the expansion of the current SEDEX supplier risk assessment process  to all Suppliers upstream and downstream
  • CSR Supplier Risk Evaluation: Support CSR Supplier Risk Evaluation via data inputs and third-party platform updates.
  • Data Management: Manage data systems for SGS’s suppliers and internal manufacturing sites Sedex, including development of dashboards and reporting requirements.
  • SMETA Audits
  • Non-Compliance Follow-up: Perform follow up with suppliers when non-compliance is reported, via SEDEX, SMETA. 
  • Bi-Annual Document Preparation: Support the preparation of bi-annual documents for review with Suntory Holdings, in alignment with the Director.
  • Mitigating Controls: Help develop additional mitigating controls outside of the SEDEX platform. 
  • Policies: Support efforts to draft, update, and manages human rights policies and standards across the organization and in partnership with Suntory Holdings



 

 

Qualifications

•    Undergraduate degree in business, supply chain, environmental science, human rights, sustainability, economics, or related field required.
•    3 - 5 years of experience in sustainability or supply chain management or applicable work experience, highly preferred.
•    Project management skills with demonstrated experience in self-manage complex delivery in a fast-paced, matrixed environment, inclusive of analytical experience, required.
•    Experience and comfort working within a matrixed environment (e.g., Sustainability, Sourcing/Procurement Teams, Business teams, R&D) and managing relationships with complex stakeholders, preferred.
•    Experience working with SEDEX, SMETA, SBTi, Eco Vadis and any CSR reporting tools, required.
•    The ideal candidate must have excellent interpersonal skills, be a self-starter with an ability to manage multiple projects and deliverables, highly preferred.
•    Ability to travel (25%), required.
