Role Responsibilities 

As Sr. Director, RTD Commercialization, this entrepreneurial leader will drive enhancement of Beam Suntory’s commercial capabilities in the RTD segment.  The Sr. Director of RTD Commercialization will provide commercial leadership of key RTD strategic initiatives, partner with commercial leaders and the US RTD brand teams to drive innovation and grow market share in our RTD business, and collaborate with the Suntory RTD Company (SRC) to augment commercial capabilities. Success will be determined through excellent partnership with distributors to build strong RTD capabilities. 

This role reports to the US Chief Commercial Officer and is a key member of the Commercial Leadership Team. 

  This role will serve as the “go to” expert and point-person for all RTD commercial topics, including the following responsibilities: 

  • RTD Commercial Capability Building & Strategy Development 
    • Lead end-to-end RTD commercial capability building for BSI and with distributors, from ideation through execution 
    • Own commercial thought leadership on key RTD strategic initiatives 
    • Train and up-skill teams on RTD leadership and keys to execution, agile ways of working (i.e., Plan-Do-Check-Act process), and distributor management with support from Commercial Enablement 
    • Partner with Commercial Planning team to establish KPI framework, focus calendar periods, execution standards, and account/channel segmentation approach 
    • Partner with US RTD brand teams in establishing the innovation and portfolio prioritization agenda 
    • Drive long-term RTD commercial strategy, balancing sales growth with commercial and brand investments 

Responsibilities continued

  • RTD Business Delivery 
    • Drive RTD commercial accountability, including serving as a proxy for the Chief Commercial Officer 
    • Drive delivery of the RTD commercial strategy and activation excellence 
    • Oversee RTD retail execution team, ensuring delivery of objectives 
    • Provide oversight for RTD on-premise strategic initiatives (e.g., On The Rocks National Accounts mandate compliance, Travel & Leisure channel acceleration) 
    • Identify, evaluate, and implement commercial opportunities for continued growth in the rapidly growing “Ready To” segment 
    • Represent the Commercial team in the RTD Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) process, collaborating with S&OP team, supply chain, and customer service to deliver and maintain S&OP capabilities for RTD 
    • Partner with GBU leadership in financial and execution goal setting/forecasting processes for RTD, e.g. budget planning, forecasting, KPI setting 
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Management 
    • Own the US Commercial relationship with the Suntory RTD Company, including regular engagement on business performance, commercial capability development, and commercial strategy 
    • Develop relationships and facilitate change management efforts with both internal and external stakeholders while adeptly manage customers to drive strong market execution, including building a strong relationship with SGWS 
    • Organize and lead senior management to focus on devising and executing consumer-led growth strategies for Beam Suntory’s RTD and RTS brands by applying commercial expertise to achieve long, medium, and short-term business objectives. 
    • Lead the customer interactions within the “Ready To” segment of the marketplace and industry 
    • Act as the key connector between the regional commercial business units, national accounts on/off premise, Commercial Marketing, and RTD brand teams to ensure plans are strategically aligned, prioritized effectively, and optimum RTD share of mind is achieved within the regions 


  • 10+ years in leadership roles with general management across a variety of roles within the spirits/alcohol and consumer goods industry. Extensive commercial experiences required and fermented malt beverages/beer experience preferred. Ready to Drink experience would be an advantage for the successful incumbent. 
  • Experience that balances managing internal as well as external stakeholders. 
  • Experience dealing with third party distributors and maintaining strong trade relationships. 
  • Undergraduate qualifications in business, or related field, ideally coupled with a post graduate MBA from a premier school. 
  • The position is based out of a Beam Suntory hub office location, with preference for Chicago or New York, and will travel frequently. 
  • The salary range for this role, based in New York, is $170,000 to $220,000, along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate’s location, experience, and skillset. The range will vary if outside of this location.
