As part of the R&D team, the Sr. Portfolio Manager will manage Beam Suntory’s 3-5 year innovation pipeline in partnership with Global Brand House leads and regional partners.
Partnering with Senior Leaders across the Globe, the Sr. Portfolio Manager will help ensure that the project pipeline is sufficient to meet the organizations short- and long-term growth goals and that projects begin execution on time to limit implementation risk and maximize resource utilization. They provide key insight into the pipeline as the central source of truth globally.
The Sr. Portfolio Manager will also partner with the S&OP team to ensure portfolio data is represented accurately throughout the S&OP lifecycle and continue to improve the process design.
This position requires a person with considerable initiative, independent judgment and a capability to manage multiple priorities at the same time while maintaining highly developed facilitation and a customer service orientation.

Role Responsibilities
• Manages long-term pipeline initiatives providing estimated lead times, facilitating business case entry within standard lead times, and ensuring change control processes are followed. Updates project management system to facilitate move of pipeline initiatives to commercialization projects.
• Owns and runs the monthly Strategic Resource Gate with ELT level approvers.
• Facilitates the score-carding and project management of projects until approved in strategic resourcing gate.
• Provides Pipeline related visualizations and metrics for review, identifies gaps and scenarios that must be presented. Guides final decision making on open items and prepares escalations for executive review where appropriate.
• Facilitates the Innovation Pipeline information flow and conversations between Global Brand Houses, Supply Chain and Markets through PMR and other forums.
• Partners closely with the S&OP team to take information and decision points into the BHPR meetings.
• Works with project managers and project teams to improve business case submissions.
• Creates and executes a Continuous improvement agenda to drive process and system improvements in relation to the long-term pipeline initiatives
• Mentors and supports the day to day needs of the Process Optimization and Portfolio Specialist. (Dotted Reporting line structure)
Qualifications
Education- Bachelor’s degree in Business related discipline, Project Management, or Related Field preferred
Certifications/Licensure- Six Sigma and Project Management Certifications Preferred
Years of experience- Ideal candidate has 8+ years experience in Project Management, Portfolio management, or Marketing Operations
Level of experience- Demonstrated success in Project Management and Portfolio Management roles and influence with cross functional teams in an ambiguous, ever evolving environment. Excellent communication skills including written, verbal, and experience creating presentations for executive leaders.
Industry experience- No specific industry experience required
Travel %- 5-10% Domestic Travel
The salary range for this role, based in Chicago is $135,000-$150,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate’s location, experience, and skillset. The range will vary if outside of this location.
