Senior Manager, Materials - Supply Planning

The Senior Manager, Materials – Supply Planning role combines a background in Direct Materials Planning with a deep understanding of data analysis and reporting capability. The Sr Manager, Materials will be self-motivated and exhibit excellent critical thinking skills, the ability to synthesize complex problems and create solutions. The ideal candidate will have more than just knowledge or skill set, as they also have a “can do" and “we over me” mindset to find solutions. This position will collaborate with the Supply Planning Analytics, S&OP CoE and Leadership, Procurement, Finance, and the Operating Unit teams across North American business to support the stabilization and transformation of the Materials Planning management.

Role Responsibilities

  • Own the analytics and data requirements for the Materials Planning organization
  • Collaborate with cross functional partners (Supply Planning, Procurement, and Finance) to optimize our processes as part of the Global Supply Planning S&OP team.
  • Implement process improvement initiatives that drive improvements to the inbound metrics and streamlines the extended Supply Chain
  • Utilize a diverse array of technologies and tools as needed, to provide fact-based analysis and insights, optimize processes, and support the development of automation. 
  • Support the user adoption of material platform analytics and process adherence, develop and maintain technical documentation where applicable; work closely with IT & COE for Data Engineering
  • Assist in root cause analysis for key metrics such as Material Forecast Accuracy, Forecast Bias, Statistical Inventory Management and Dry Goods Working Capital projections.
  • Using Statistical Material inventory analysis, develop a safety stock policy recommendation to improve asset plan adherence while balancing business goals.  Measure, explain, and provide risk outlook for days of supply on key materials categories.
  • Lead the material data integration activity (internal and external) to both feed SAP IBP and utilize the output, leveraging advanced planning functionality where appropriate
  • Conduct complex data analyses leveraging multiple data sources and synthesize results.  Generate and test working hypotheses, prepare and analyze historical data, and identify patterns
  • Support the development of any business case required for system project approval, which may include IT and resource investments.
  • Proactively engage with the Materials Planning teams to propose system or process solutions that will enable process maturity, data integrity, and resource efficiency

Qualifications

  • Bachelors Degree or equivalent experience in Supply Chain, Industrial Engineering, Statistics, Computer Science or related field.  Advanced degree preferred.
  • 7+ years of experience with at least 2+ years in experience in a supply chain discipline with demonstrated End to End understanding of Supply Chain interdependencies for a CPG or Spirits company. Focus on inbound supply chain preferred.
  • Excellent problem solving, analytical, written and verbal communication skills across many levels of the organization.
  • Ability to see the big picture and define analytics and reporting landscape to support business efficiency
  • Ability to manage multiple projects and prioritize competing requirements
  • Strong analytical ability & business oriented with drive for excellence
  • Demonstrate flexibility and resilience and respond constructively to new demands and challenges
