In partnership with Account, Creative, Marketing, and Consumer Insights this role is a critical component in our collective efforts to propel our brands to iconic, world-class status.  Additionally, if you're looking to broaden your creative career, moving in-house will expand your sphere of learning and skills exponentially as you will truly play an instrumental role in building our brands from the ground up. Specifically, this role is a key leadership position within Proof (the in-house creative team) and Beam Suntory, leading our creative strategy agenda, championing a consumer-first mindset, delivering meaningful impact across our business, and staying on the cusp of culture and commerce. Identifying consumer and marketplace trends, fusing disparate information into opportunity, and translating insight into the fuel that catapults creative development is central to this role. As such, forging strong and productive relationships across the organization is as equally important as your strategic savvy.  Additionally, you will have the ongoing ability to shape, influence, and drive the Proof Team experience through the Planning lens.


Role Responsibilities

- Provides strategic leadership across the full Proof business, supporting multiple initiatives, brands, agendas and teams
- Leads the Proof Planning team, driving future ambitions, vision, experience, and day-to-day deliverables
- Leads the development of creative briefs, strategic documents, trend reports, and client presentations, including guiding the Planning team's ambitions and suite of work
- Partners with creative team to tell the story of our work, grounded in true insight and backed by strong rationale
- Manages multiple workstreams simultaneously and collaborates with a variety of stakeholders within the Proof Team, Beam Suntory, and external partners 
- Enriches the collective intellectual capital of the team by providing thought provoking ideas and divergent thinking on a continual basis
- Follows, analyzes, and applies trade, brand, and key category news as well as emerging trends, with an emphasis on culture, commerce, and creativity
- Monitors and interprets competitive activity across the vast spirits and media landscapes
- Leads inspiring creative briefings and presents work to clients in a compelling and persuasive manner
- Partners with account teams to proactively identify strategic opportunities for our brands/business 
- Strong ally and partner to the creative teams in the creative development journey and serves as insightful sounding board
- Participates in creative reviews and provides objective feedback, challenging the creative status quo to drive to more provocative solutions

- Reviews primary research and conducts secondary research to identify highly actionable and truly unique consumer insights


Qualifications & Experience

- We are a "thinking" and "doing" team with everyone contributing thought and content equally--you will deliver work and output in addition to providing a compelling perspective

- 10+ years of proven account planning leadership experience in an agency or in-house setting; consumer engagement/brand experience and digital background a strong preference (channel and activation strategy development)

- Experience with people and team leadership; ability to define a vision, inspire excellence, and drive high levels of engagement
- Deliver results-focused solutions that accelerate the success of our brands, business, and team
- Innovates creative strategies and opportunities; share and sell new ideas often 
- Reinforces Proof’s key leadership position and critical role within the organization by demonstrating impact and results against company vision and brand ambitions
- Establishes Proof as trusted advisors and invaluable consultants within the Marketing, Insights, and Leadership Teams; know the brands’ business well and provides insightful thought leadership 

- Comfortable with ambiguity, ability to synthesize disparate information, and translate it into meaningful creative/brand opportunity 

- Agile and flexible, pivots quickly and effectively to different audiences, cohorts, challenges, workload, and opportunities
