Manager- North America Risk & Compliance

What makes this a great opportunity?

This role will be a key member of Beam Suntory’s North America Commercial Finance team focusing on risk management and compliance policy development and implementation.  This will be a highly visible role that will interact with both regional leadership and work cross-functionally with Global Compliance, Human Resources, Legal, Regional Sales, Global Business Services and Marketing teams to manage business risk and ensure that team activities are consistent with company policy.  We are seeking a candidate that can be solution-oriented, drive the compliance agenda, and who will become a sought-out resource across the organization.

 

Role Responsibilities

  • Work closely with the regional Controller to plan and oversee the North America Region compliance agenda. 
  • Drive the Enterprise Risk Management process, including an annual review of controls and periodic documentation refresh. 
  • Ensure compliance with rules and regulations within the FCPA including anti-bribery, Third Party Risk, and transparency.
  • Assist with implementing and managing an effective control environment through financial control performance, data analysis, and monitoring. 
  • Assist with identification of potential areas of compliance vulnerability and risk; develop/implement corrective action plans for resolution of problematic issues, and provide general guidance on relevant topics.
  • Oversee the effective implementation of group policies, procedures and controls across the business and specifically within the region.
  • Develop local addendums, ensuring that global policies are tailored to local business practices and customs. 
  • Plan and deliver recurring compliance training programs to support.
  • Work with Global Business Services and local finance teams within the region to drive best practices and identify opportunities to improve processes and ways of working.
  • Attend and present to the Regional Compliance Committee. Provide compliance updates and ensure alignment on key decisions.
  • Administer the North America Risk and Control matrix, partnering cross-functionally with control owners to ensure controls are documented and performed
  • Conduct annual Segregation of Duties assessment

 

Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelors Degree in Finance/Accounting or Business Administration
  • Internal audit or previous compliance experience for a multi-national business
  • MBA/CPA a plus
  • Excellent communication and presentation skills
  • Experience within consumer products in one of the following: Spirits, Beer, Wine, Beverage, and Food categories.
  • Ability to extract, manipulate and analyze data for key insights.
  • Strong analytical/excel and computer skills
