Given the nature of this role, it serves as an ideal managerial entry point into Suntory Global Spirits (SGS), providing the incumbent with an opportunity to refine and quickly showcase their leadership, business and financial skill set, while at the same time providing critical leader and foundational learnings that allow for growth within SGS Finance. Key accountabilities of this position are as follows:
- Review SGS’s daily net cash position and execute short-term borrowing/investing strategies
- Execute all NA foreign exchange and commodity hedging activity. Work with business groups and regions on hedging programs and provide global FX analysis and market updates
- Manage ad-hoc Treasury projects including the Treasury Management System enhancements
- Lead global cash flow (FCF) forecasting and perform credit ratio analyses on I/C activity
Role Responsibilities
- Manage two Analysts within NA Treasury team
- Execute all North America foreign exchange and commodity hedging activity. Work with operating companies on hedging programs and provide FX market updates.
- Manage SGS’s on-line FX trading and bank wire systems.
- Maintain up-to-date knowledge of hedging strategies, IFRS 9, and other FX topics.
- Review banking legislation and requirements: Dodd-Frank, ISDA, EMIR.
- Calculate and analyze quarterly FX exposures and mark-to-markets (including VaR).
- Prepare quarterly FX and commodity activity reports.
- Lead global Treasury Mgmt Systems (Kyriba) project implementations/enhancements.
- Liaise with Global Shared Services (GBS) team on banking services.
- Review SGS’s daily cash requirements as consolidated by Financial Analyst from bank balance reports with payment/collection instructions received from GBS (opco’s) or SGS HQ.
- Analyze daily short-term debt/investment alternatives and execute borrowing/investing strategies.
- Review daily wire/ACH disbursement requests for completeness and proper authorization. Support daily funds transfers and confirmations.
- Consolidate and review Global Monthly Entity Cash Flow Forecasts.
- Lead Canadian investment reviews for Defined Benefit, Contribution and RRSP employee programs
- Assist with ratings models for I/C capitalizations including sensitivities to understand implications of changes in capital structure (cash/debt mix) on key ratios, metrics and ratings.
Qualifications
- Bachelor’s degree in Business, Economics or Accounting
- MBA preferred
- Certified Treasury Professional Accreditation preferred
- 5+ years of work experience in Treasury and/or Banking
- Solicits and obtains input from team members and stakeholders (including business units and other functions) and synthesizes data effectively as a basis for good decision-making
- Builds and leverages relationships across boundaries with key stakeholders by developing formal and informal networks to share best practices and gain consensus
- Able to work in the details of an issue, but also step out and see the “bigger picture” and downstream impacts of decision making.
Salary Range - The salary range for this role, based in Chicago with a salary range of $115,000-120,000 along with an annual bonus, 401K match, profit sharing, and medical and wellness benefits. The salary range is commensurate with the candidate’s location, experience, and skillset. The range will vary if outside of this location
