You are responsible for a large geographic territory that delivers more sales volume than several other states.  This is a great opportunity to fully own and manage a part of our business and is a great steppingstone to managing sales for an entire market.  You will have both on and off premise goals and a budget to execute with, determining how best to drive results through your team and the distributor.


Role Responsibilities

Deliver both Off and On-Premise growth targets for Outstate IL by managing the SGWS distributor team. This position is responsible for managing the entire portfolio for Central and Southern areas of IL outside the Greater Chicago Metropolitan Area.

Set goals with distributor to achieve monthly, quarterly and annual value, volume, and KPI targets.  Work with distributor sales force to monitor progress and ensure goals are achieved

  • Plan and manage territory funds budget to support trade promotions and brand investment required to drive plan achievement
  • Conduct monthly/quarterly meetings with distributor leadership and key accounts to present programming/innovation
  • Work with IL Chain Manager and distributor KAM’s to secure programs for key time periods with Outstate Chains
  • Monitor distributor execution weekly and address all shortfalls with corrective actions plans
  • Set up regular ride alongs with distributor to ensure programs are being executed
  • Conduct quarterly sales blitz’s with distributor focusing on key holiday’s that align to our weeks to win strategy
  • Actively manage the presentation and execution of category plans, brand plans, promotions and new item introductions ensuring compliance with Brand Standards at all times
  • Provide monthly sales training and communication, to distributor sales force in areas of brand trend awareness and sales technique. 
  • Develop and take ownership of a list of key ON-Premise accounts with a focus on premiumization and volume.
  • Maintain accurate and up-to-date records on contacts made, new placements secured, follow-up points, and direction.  Keep abreast of all laws, regulations and policies that govern market.  Keep management aware of all information pertaining to area of responsibility.
  • Ensure all efforts and sales involvement is in compliance with state and federal laws.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience
  • 3+ years in the Beverage Alcohol Industry and/or the CPG category
  • Previous Off/On Premise spirits industry experience preferred
  • Three years consumer products sales experience
  • Thorough knowledge of distribution, promotion and selling techniques
  • Sales experience, including experience selling promotion and marketing programs
  • Experience working with food and beverage distributors preferred
  • Licensed driver of motor vehicles
  • Preference to live in the outstate market Central or Southern Illinois
