As IP Legal Specialist (Brand Review), you will be part of a dynamic, world-class Global Legal department with members in the US as well as Mexico, Brazil, Spain, Germany, India, China, and Singapore.  In this global role, you will provide strategic and creative IP support for various brands and business units spanning the Americas, Europe, Africa, Asia, and Oceania. 


Role Responsibilities

  • Review the following types of content for compliance with IP laws and best practices and provide feedback to the brand teams:
    • Marketing materials (e.g., print, digital, out-of-home, and eCommerce advertising);
    • Press releases, website updates, and social media posts;
    • Brand books/guidelines, sell sheets, and buy decks;
    • Consumer promotions such as samplings, sweepstakes, contests, offers, and rebates;
    • Search ad copy and search engine optimization (SEO) keywords; and
    • Customer relationship management (CRM) communications.
  • Partner with brand teams on the development of marketing programs to identify and mitigate legal risk.
  • Maintain and update IP tools and resources (e.g., training decks, intake forms, topic-specific one-pagers, template agreements, brand guides).
  • Maintain and update IP files.
  • Assist senior IP team members with the following:
    • The scheduling, tracking, preparation, and presentation of trainings; 
    • Innovation, line extension, and geographic expansion projects, among others; and
    • IP prosecution and maintenance.


Qualifications & Experience

  • Bachelor’s degree or commensurate work experience.
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office suite and Adobe Acrobat Pro.
  • At least 1-3 years of paralegal/legal assistant experience gained in a law firm or corporate law department in IP matters is preferred. 
  • Experience in beverage alcohol industry or other Consumer Packaged Goods industry is preferred but not required.
  • Experience with Patricia or other IP docketing software, SAEGIS or other trademark screening software, Planisware (project portfolio management software), eFileCabinet (document management software), and/or DesignTracker (POS management software) is preferred but not required.
