Role Overview

Mission

The mission of the Manager – Performance Analytics at Suntory Global Spirits is to deliver comprehensive meta-analysis of the company's brands, categories, and commercial sales performance. This includes analyzing data from various sources to identify and communicate current trends, updating monthly sales reports and presentations, managing data, and undertaking ad hoc analytical projects. The role also involves supporting business reviews with analysis focused on understanding why certain results are occurring and what should be done next. This will enable the business to make informed decisions on where to prioritize investments/resources. The manager will also develop recommendations based on market analysis and spend ROIs and assist in building a KPI & analytics informed commercial plans among other responsibilities.

Role Responsibilities

Responsibilities of this role include:

 

  • Manage monthly total US consumption reporting utilizing various data sources. Provide deep-dive analysis into specific brands as needed.
  • Utilize data analytics tools and syndicated consumption data to track category and customer performance, analyze trends, and provide actionable insights for strategic planning. 
  • Create scorecards and dashboards to drive increased data integration across the organization. 
  • Support internal and external business reviews against KPI’s with analysis focused on “WHY” and “NOW WHAT” to enable the business to make smart decisions on where to prioritize investments/resources. 
  • Develop opportunity recommendations based on market analysis of both consumption and depletion trends.
  • Assist sales and marketing leadership in building a KPI & analytics informed commercial plans.
  • Share and re-apply best-in-class analytics and forecasting methodologies across business.
  • Deliver succinct, action oriented and customer-ready business deliverables that inspire action.
  • Develop systems expertise and be the point person / power user for market specific information contained in systems and data sources such as Nielsen, CGA, NABCA, yDrink, and distributor depletions (SalesNav).  
  • Development of tools and training to provide assigned teams with self-service analytics. 
     

Qualifications

  • Minimum 3-5 years of sales, marketing, category management, and/or financial analysis experience
  • Commercial experience with consumer products in one of the following preferred industries: Spirits, Beer, Wine, Beverage, and Foods categories
  • Ability to extract, manipulate, mine, and analyze sales, share, and spending data for key insights.
  • Experience integrating competitive, consumer, and market insights into business recommendations
  • Demonstrated ability to quickly come up to speed with new applications, systems, and data types
  • Strong analytical experience utilizing Excel, Power BI, Tableau, Think-Cell, and CPG, food, and beverage industry standard tools.  
  • Demonstrated experience manipulating and uncovering insights utilizing Nielsen, IRI/Circana, and internal sales data.  
  • Bachelor’s Degree in Business, Mathematics, Engineering, or Finance. MBA a plus.
  • Strong team player, excellent communication skills, and ability positively interact cross-functional team.
  • Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
