Beam Suntory has committed to a 5-stage Global Sales & Operations Planning (S&OP) Process to support the new Brand House Operating model.  The S&OP Process is an enterprise-wide integrated business planning process (IBP) for Beam Suntory to manage the delivery of its business goals and commitments over the 3-year strategic planning process.  The Director, US PMR and Business Insights position is a critical role in Beam Suntory’s commitment to the S&OP process to achieve our growth ambitions and financial goals over the 3-year strategic planning horizon.  This position is essential in managing the long term and short-term forecasting process for major brands within the Beam Suntory portfolio.  The role will serve as a liaison between cross functional business partners to ensure that all forecasts are accurate and necessary inputs gathered. You will ensure successful fore thought in forecasting and take ownership to drive the business results. 


Role Responsibilities


  • NA Business Insights - Leveraging business metrics and KPIs and insights from our US S&OP process leverage data to mitigate risk and exploit opportunities across North America
    • Single source of truth for North America Demand (US, Canada and Mexico) – view of the forecast volume to ensure correct segmentation, with systematic volume to value earlier in process
    • Increased process rigor to improve US S&OP stability extending time horizon to 24 rolling months
    • Set priorities and action plans to close gaps to commitments and performance measure targets, mitigate risks and exploit opportunities
    • Make trade-off decisions with clear alignment to strategy to increase trust in the S&OP process
  • NA Portfolio Management - understand product portfolio management in the context of sales and operations planning (S&OP), aligning product life cycle, the conceptual phases of revenue and profit across lifespan of the BSI portfolio
    • Alignment of NA Priority Brands to Global Brand Houses and lead executive level NA PMR meeting as part of the Beam Suntory Global S&OP process
    • Identify changes to the current and projected product portfolio
    • Reach consensus on the aggregate summary of projects at risk, financial impact, and decisions needed
    • Manage the health and sufficiency of the project funnel and course correct
    • Ensure the portfolio is adequately resourced and aligned to strategy
    • Raise the visibility of the commercial agenda across the business
    • Identify opportunities to support the sku reduction/optimization
    • Communicate changes that will impact demand, supply and financial plans and accomplishment of strategic goals
  • Demand Planning Process Leadership:  Orchestrating the 5-stage S&OP Process of for Mexico and Canada.  Requires cross-functional alignment with Marketing, Sales, Global Commercialization, Brand House Leadership, Supply Chain & Operations and Finance on key decisions, risks & opportunities and action plans to deliver against the committed business plans over the S&OP horizon (eventually, current budget year + 2 fiscal years).  Maintains strong liaison with key senior leaders.  Ensures transparent and timely communication to drive a cross-functionally aligned, integrated business plan.  Partners with the CFO, NA Region on the monthly S&OP Integrated Reconciliation and gap management process.  Manages Demand Planning Process for Canada and Mexico, respectively.
  • Strategic Partnerships - This position will require working closely with the Commercial Team (Sales / Marketing / Finance / Supply Chain) on forecasting and analytics.  Collaborating with Commercial Team, you will work to address demand & supply imbalances, allocation methodologies, and inventory strategies.
  • People Management:  Set goals for direct reports.  Lead talent assessment and development for the NA S&OP team.  Foster strong engagement by proactively embracing our Beam Suntory leadership behaviors and our commitment to Diversity & Inclusion.

This position will report to the Senior Director, NA and US S&OP and work directly with the North America Region’s leadership team.  This position is accountable for the monthly statistical forecast that drive the business in direct partnership with the GBH, GPPM, Marketing, Sales and Finance.  Reporting to this position will be:

Qualifications & Experience


  • 10+ years of demonstrated operational performance in leading IBP/S&OP, Finance or Business Analytics Process for a major Business Unit for a CPG or Spirits company in North America
  • Experience with SAP
  • Strong knowledge in S&OP best practices and proven application of these practices
  • Demonstrated performance in leading S&OP continuous improvement
  • Outstanding capabilities in developing talent
