Data Governance Manager  

Mission

Beam Suntory is seeking a Data Governance Manager to join our Enterprise Information Management team.  This position will focus on establishing and ensuring adherence to an enterprise data governance framework for data policies, standards and practices to achieve required level of data quality.  This role will be critical in the support of the evolution of our Enterprise Information Management team and the import role we play at Beam Suntory as it relates to becoming a data-driven organization.  Ultimately responsible for supporting the evolution of our data standards based on new industry standards, new customer requirements and new strategic initiatives and projects within Beam Suntory.  This is an excellent opportunity to be part of developing our data governance strategy and road maps, implementing new data governance programs, and solving business critical problems, while gaining exposure to a variety of business units within the company.

Desired Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree required
• 5+ years of experience in data governance, data stewardship, data analysis preferably with experience CPG organization with large-scale data or project management and data oversight experience
• Experience implementing data governance programs and knowledge of applicable standard methodologies, concepts, best practices, and procedures
• Experience with change management, a plus.
• A detailed understanding and hands on experience preferred implementing data governance tools
• Excellent organizational, verbal and written communication skills
• A certain degree of creativity and latitude is required as well as flexibility in job role and working hours during critical deliveries
• A natural sense of urgency, initiative and a positive team player philosophy to be reflected in daily work ethics

• Excellent project management skills, problem solving skills, communication, presentation and interpersonal skills.
• Demonstrated ability to work in a team-oriented, collaborative environment
• Demonstrable ability to influence stakeholders and gain acceptance from others, driving for consensus and change.
• Ability to work well in a matrix environment.

• Knowledge of Data Quality, Metadata, Lineage and MDM
• Ability to develop and lead the teams of data stewards towards a common goal

• Demonstrable exceptional analytical and conceptual thinking skills

• Adapt and work in a fast-phased environment

• Travel to other Global sites approximately 15% of the time.
