Customer Data Analyst
The following position is an office-based role that will work out of the Chicago, IL office.
In this role, you will work closely with Distributors, Operations, GMDM, Order Management, Sales Strategy, Finance, Commercial, RGM, IT and all other relevant internal and external groups involved in Supply Chain activities.
Direct report to Senior Manager, Customer Service US.
• The core responsibility of a Customer Data Analyst is ensuring that BSI’s customer, item and allocation data is synched with our distributor partners to ensure their orders flow smoothly through our electronic processing system. The analyst will work cross-functionally with internal and customer partners, owning system updates, audits and process documentation to support this goal, identifying and pursuing process improvements, and building and maintaining strong interpersonal relationships in support of SGS’s goal of being the supplier partner of choice for our distributors.
Role Responsibilities
• Consolidate and streamline customer interfacing master data into a secure, robust model to support the needs of internal and external systems as well as the needs of our distributor partners.
• Create, maintain and retire allocation data within defined SLAs for allocated BSI SKUs, in partnership with demand and finance planners, Fulfilment team members, IT, and other stakeholders as needed.
• Work closely with the global master data teams, project managers, and stakeholders of subscribing systems to champion the consistency and integrity of customer interfacing master data.
• The Customer Data Analyst is responsible for correct and efficient data management, recurring reports, data uploads, mass change requests, updating work instruction data consistency checks, application maintenance of system tools used to execute these tasks and supply chain activities.
• Build and maintain audits and reports Customer Item and Allocation data and procedure to ensure the system is running smoothly. Own external facing reporting on BSI’s BAR server
• Provide leadership by planning, evaluating and continuously improving our item master data and allocation structures.
• Document and further develop guidelines for the use of customer interfacing item data. Document and maintain process definitions, ownership, and quality rules.
• Maintain consistency and compliance of the use of master data. Establish procedures for the maintenance and use of master data. Ensure that data standards, processes, procedures laid out for creation and modification of item masters and allocation entries are followed. Report any deviation from established procedures and take corrective actions.
• Assist other departments with trouble shooting SAP system issues and correcting allocation and item data as needed. Work on projects, and/or new audits, to streamline data management processes to make department more efficient and effective. Provide reports (scheduled and ad hoc) to other business departments as needed.
• Recommend process improvements to ensure data integrity, improve service levels and streamline workload.
• Develop and deliver solutions and processes for managing item material data with our customers throughout the data lifecycle from capture to processing to usage across all layers of the application architecture.
• Ability to design, lead and conduct various pieces of research to uncover root cause of order fails connected to master data and allocation elements
.• Build and maintain relationships among Distributors, Operations, GMDM, GC, GBS, RGM, Finance, Commercial, Customer Service, IT and all other relevant internal and external groups involved in Market Readiness related activity.
• Manage distributor item portals to ensure ongoing improvement of data quality, clear governance process, and that service targets are met
• Work with CS, Distributor Partners and GMDM team members to continually refine and improve processes related to data entry and management including automation in transfer of data.

• Act as a conduit between the PIM site and distributor master data contacts to coordinate the transfer and handover of information in a way that conforms and complies with standards.
Qualifications
• 2 to 5 years related experience.
• Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience.
• Ability to work in a fast-paced, demanding environment and bring passion to company mission and team development.
• Achieve mutual understanding with peers and leadership through clear and concise verbal and written communication skills. Attentive and active listener.
• Detail oriented, extremely organized with the ability to understand the complicated interactions between BSI and Customer data management systems and educate peers and leaders.
• Capable of working independently on projects and miscellaneous assignments and providing understandable summaries and analysis to leaders and partners who are not subject matter experts.
• Follows up on open items timely and tactfully. Able to influence peers and other teams without having direct authority over them.
• Comfortable working both operationally within current procedures, policies, and processes are being followed and strategically leading the management team to improve ways of working and continuously improve.

• Understands the principles of Supply Chain Operations, best practice customer service and/or supply chain planning with an ability to translate this knowledge into real life practical application.
• Proficiency in MS Office Suite required. Salesforce, SAP and PowerBI a plus.
