What makes this a great opportunity?

At Beam Suntory, the Agile Coach will be a key player in aligning the Digital and IT Portfolios with agile projects and digital products.  This role is responsible to guide agile teams by leveraging strong relationships with our Digital Transformation Office and IT Portfolio Management Office.  The Agile Coach will enjoy a broad exposure to multiple information technology domains and business functions.  This role will primarily partner with all global IT teams and digital business leaders to build and execute projects through cultivating an agile mindset.  The agile coach will work closely with other coaches, continuously learning the latest in agile, product, tech, and leadership.

 

Role Responsibilities

The Agile Coach will be able to harness the talent of agile teams and take them to the next level of agile maturity. The agile coach will develop, mentor and train agile teams in agile methodology and shepherd the team through all stages of agile to ensure effective outcomes for the organization.  

The coach will monitor agile projects progress and successfully coach teams by providing training to teams and/or individuals. The agile coach must act as a global change agent in our agile transformation journey. They will seek feedback from teams, and leadership, and provide solutions that best meet the team needs and organizational required metrics. The coach will support the standardization of agile tools required.

The coach will contribute to the agile and digital roadmap that will guide the organizational culture that embraces an agile mindset and ways of working.

 

  • Track individual team metrics
  • Understand and support product/project KPIs and value realization expectations
  • Optimize agile ways of working at Beam Suntory while adhering to agile methodology best practices
  • Continue to refine agile onboarding processes based on the needs of the digital organization
  • Support facilitating discovery sessions with customers to understand their unique challenges, strengths, and opportunities for growth to support agile delivery teams.
  • Facilitate Agile process knowledge to all team members throughout a project following BSI’s agile operating model.
  • Instruct teams on the basics of Agile tools to ensure consistency in delivery and reporting.
  • Collaborate with cross-functional teams to define, implement, and refine agile processes and best practices.
  • 1:1 agile coaching and mentoring of Agile Coaches, Scrum Masters, Product Managers, Product Owners, Leadership, Developers, and other technical areas as needed.
  • Coach with other talented coaches, this includes co-creating coaching plans, co-facilitating sessions, and collaborating to meet the outcomes of our teams.
  • Coach and facilitate teams scrum events, daily standups, planning, retrospectives, reviews, and backlog refinement.
  • Perform a current state analysis of the team coaching to build a custom coaching plan.
  • Coach product managers to drive business value and retain the project vision. Assist in writing user stories for the product backlog.
  • Mentor product managers to shift mindset from output to outcomes and make daily decisions to keep the project in motion and empower them to partner with business stakeholders to make more strategic decisions.
  • Support project teams with meeting preparation, including the pre-planning, planning, daily Scrum, and review stages.
  • Coach pair programming, mob programming, clean coding practices, automation, and test-driven development.
  • Cultivate an Agile mindset in all team members where problems are embraced as welcome opportunities to adapt.
  • Present to leadership agile team metrics and recommendations and foster a culture of transparency, collaboration, and adaptability across both agile and waterfall project teams.
  • Contribute to building the agile and product practices through continuous discovery, building case studies, conducting industry research, and more.

 

 

 

Qualifications & Experience

 

Certifications/Licensure- Agile Scrum Master, Agile Coaching

Years of experience- 8-10 years in similar role

Travel %- 10% - 15%
