Warehouse General Help - Temporary Position

Reporting to the Warehouse Supervisor, you will safely and efficiently enter and withdraw barrels from rack and pallet warehouses.

Responsibilities:

• Entering and withdrawal of full barrels from Rack and Pallet warehouses utilizing various pieces equipment including straddle carrier pallets, turntable, forklift and palletizer
• Keep accurate record of number and location of barrels entered into racks
• Ensure number of barrels and bond numbers match the “Withdraw from Bonded Storage” sheet
• Load and secure, or unload full barrels to and from containers, trucks and trailers

• Maintain equipment (forklifts, palletizer, and turntables) and update records
• Collect spirit samples
• Make recommendations for improvements to equipment and process
• Act in accordance with the One Beam Suntory Way behaviors
• Be actively involved with improvements and root cause problem solving
• Participate in daily ‘huddles’, actively discuss safety, quality and performance issues and suggestions
• Continually identify improvement opportunities for all processes 
• Other duties as assigned

Qualifications:

• Grade 12
• Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
• Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continual improvement programs is a requirement of the job.

Physical Requirements:

The successful candidate must have and maintain the physical ability of continuous walking and standing; frequent heavy lifting (100 lbs. max.); occasional very heavy lifting (more than 100 lbs.); reaching, pushing, pulling, bending, squatting; climbing ladders up to 24 feet; working in tight dark spaces; and exposure to various environments (wind, dust, heights, hot and cold temperatures, etc.).
