Role Responsibilities
REPORTING STRUCTURE: Production Shift Supervisor
BASIC FUNCTION: Providing coverage for Production Chargehands and Operators in both Stillhouse and Dryhouse areas.
JOB RESPONSIBILITIES:
Stillhouse:
- Cleaning and transferring grain, milling, and weighing
- Cooking and mash transfer
- Control of fermentation and yeasting
- Operation of the complete distillation process and producing spirits of proper quality
- Performing assigned analytical testing and sampling
Dryhouse:
- Stillage transfer; Centrifuges; Evaporation
- Two stage drying, dried grain cooling and transport to storage,
- Producing and loading final Dryhouse products, Distillers Dried Grain (DDG) and syrup
- Training will be provided to evaluate grain as set out by the Canada Grain Standards to monitor incoming grain materials
- Record keeping and entering transactions into SAP
- Conform with the operating, safety and fire protection procedures and instructions
- Document and maintain shift activities, processes and operation records
- Report on any safety/hazard concerns in the operating areas
- Maintain good housekeeping, implement, maintain and support 5S activities and observe all safety regulations
- Make recommendations for improvements to equipment and process
- Act in accordance with the One Beam Suntory Way behaviors
- Be actively involved with improvements and root cause problem solving
- Participate in daily ‘huddles’, actively discuss safety, quality and performance issues and suggestions
- Continually identify improvement opportunities for all processes
- Compliance with standard operating procedures, legal and other requirements including health and safety, fire protection, environmental, quality, security and continual improvement programs is a requirement of the job.

Qualifications & Experience
QUALIFICATIONS:
- Grade 12
- Fourth Class Operating Certificate of competency from the Alberta Boilers Safety Association
- Process Control System experience an asset
- Computer literate – SAP experience an assset
- Excellent interpersonal and communication skills
- Work well without supervision
- Must be able to work shifts
PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS:
Must be, and must continue to be physically fit to handle all aspects of the job. The physical components of this job are the ability to lift weights of 25 kg +/- on a regular basis, climb stairs, ladders, catwalks, work at various heights, possess good sight and hearing, lack allergies to components present at the work site, and maintain Stillhouse and silo area in a clean and safe condition.
