Role Responsibilities

The Supply Chain team is looking for a Supply Chain Business Analyst who will work with teams to scrutinize processes and systems and look for ways to increase efficiency in the Supply Chain organization. The individual will act as the liaison between different departments within Beam Suntory to find ways to streamline processes and improve utilization of our systems throughout the organization. This role is responsible with interacting with various groups in the organization, sometimes acting as a diplomat, and presenting solutions in ways that colleagues and stakeholders will understand. After completing an analysis of a process and/or system process, they may deliver many different types of solutions, including new business plans, data models, flowcharts, or strategic plans relating to the business.


Specific Duties & Responsibilities


  • Works within an organization to evaluate and develop roadmap to align work processes with current and future technologies. This requires deep knowledge of both the specific business and industry trends and conventions. A key aspect of the business analyst role is communicating plans between internal departments and external stakeholders.
  • Introduce change in an organization. Change might include avoidance of costs, identifying new opportunities, realizing, and creating new benefits, and so on.
  • Responsible for managing complex and high-profile projects within Supply Chain and other areas impacting the SC as it relates to continuous improvement efforts, implementation of new processes/procedures in conjunction with leveraging key platforms (I.e.  SAP, Salesforce, Tableau)
  • Collaborate with the Supply Chain leadership team to identify and implement medium to large scope projects, process improvements and procedural changes designed to enhance and or support our customer experience, increase efficiency, and reduce costs.
  • Communicate with colleagues and Stakeholders to understand the needs of the business and/or process.
  • Conducts gap analysis through surveys, workshops, and/or outside consultants. Benchmark against competitor both in and outside industry while striving for “Best in Class” practices/solutions.
  • Analyze the data and information to develop robust solutions to address challenges and obstacles within or impacting Supply Chain.
  • Communicate and prepare presentations to senior leadership introducing recommendations/options along with timing highlighting any risks and costs associated with each.
  • Upon proper approval implement new or update existing process or platforms through thoughtful and thorough project management. Ensuring that they meet or exceed project goals, are within budget and delivered on time.
  • Lead, manage or support projects, supporting teams through change management process, creation of training materials and hand off to associated users as solutions are implemented.
  • Build and maintain relationships among Distributors, Operations, GC, GBS, Logistics, Finance, Commercial, IT and all other relevant internal and external groups involved in Supply Chain activities.
  • Provide a post go live plan and evaluate project success and conduct lessons learned sessions and build learnings into future project plans.
  • Communication skills: SC Business Analyst must work in groups, collect information from and present it to wide-ranging stakeholders in the company, translate and negotiate between parties, and communicate solutions in an accessible way. They must have strong written and spoken skills and feel confident presenting business cases to the executive level for budget approval.
  • Business knowledge and critical thinking: Supply Chain Business Analyst must understand many facets of the company with an emphasis on Supply Chain.   They must be able to understand the roles of different individuals and departments, and how these departments interact cross-functionally. This business knowledge will then allow them to successfully analyze data points and build strategic plans.
  • Technical skills: Business analysts may use a wide range of technical programs, including programs in diagramming, data mining, process flow mapping for management of requirements, and presentation of results. Proficiency with ERP systems, big data mining techniques, database management, and systems engineering will be assets to this role.
  • Ability to develop and align new platforms and technology solutions to drive business results and act as a liaison between the IT and business teams
  • Understanding of lean principles to drive productivity gains and waste reductions for the business.



Reporting & Working Relationships
  • Works most closely with Supply Chain Sr. Manager , Supply Chain Peers and other Leadership, Finance, IT, Operations, SC Departmental SMEs in relationship to process and trigger improvement in Supply Chain activities and acts as liaison for continues improvement between Supply and the rest of the areas
  • Direct report to Sr Manager of SC Business Analytics.

Qualifications & Experience


  • 3 to 5  years’ experience in Supply Chain Responsibility including analytic work.
  • Creative problem-solving skills and critical thinking.
  • Ability to work within a diverse, global workforce that is oriented around customer satisfaction and process delivery.
  • Bachelor’s degree in business, IT or Engineering related discipline or equivalent experience. 
  • ERP experience (SAP a plus).
  • Tableau and Salesforce advanced proficiency as well as Project Management experience.
