Brand Manager, Growth Brands  


The following position is open in All StatesNew Zealand.

Champion the strategic marketing direction, delivering against key growth objectives of brand health, volume, sales and profit for some of the most recognised brands in the Beam Suntory portfolio (Canadian Club, Roku, Haku, Toki, and Laphroaig).  


Role Responsibilities

  • Works with the Marketing Manager to develop the marketing strategy for the brands within the portfolio
  • Plan and manage annual brand plan (ATL/ BTL, on/ off) and liaise directly with agencies to develop programs.
  • Deliver brand plans on time and to budget
  • Build effective working relationships with the CCEP team to gain input, alignment and support of promotional activities e.g. regular work in progress meetings and business reviews.
  • Develop above the line communication programs
  • Efficient management of brand A&P budgets
  • Communication of brand standards, plans, strategy, and marketing programs to key stakeholders (internal & external) 
  • Regular brand performance and health reviews, tracking, and reporting
  • Contribute to NPD strategies for future growth of the brands. Especially with reference to developing commercially valid RTD and FS outcomes.
  • New product development cross functional team member or leader
  • Market opportunity identification and capitalisation – in consultation with the innovation & insights team
  • Approve in-market activity in consultation with Trade Marketing
  • Brand initiative execution
  • Develop and manage sponsorship strategy and leverage programs to maximize each property
  • Monthly reporting on market performance and progress to achieve budget for sales (ex factory & Nielsen/ LMA tracking)
  • Consumer enquires handling
  • Assist the Marketing Manager by developing Assistant Brand Managers


Qualifications & Experience

Qualifications & Experience

  • 3 - 6 years experience in a consumer marketing environment
  • Tertiary qualifications (preferably Commerce or Business with Marketing Major)
  • Liquor or beverage industry experience is valued but not essential

  • Effective analysis, interpretation and recommendation based on key brand data (e.g. brand profitability, market information, consumer insights)
  • Ability to influence and partner with all external stakeholders (agencies, sales agent)

  • Excellent project manager with a proven record and an understanding of efficient cost control.
  • Preparing and delivering effective presentations
  • Professional, constructive and mature team leadership
  • Balanced judgment and commercial mindset, leveraging fact and intuition in a timely manner
  • Demonstrated strong planning and organisational skills to deliver excellence in execution
  • Ability to make decisions and apply judgment
  • Strong communication skills (both oral and written)
  • Creativity to identify alternative approaches and solutions
  • A confident manner and the ability to influence and persuade constructively
  • Enthusiasm to roll the sleeves up and make things happen
