The Category team is responsible for identifying and building long-term Category growth strategies along with managing the short-term 12 month Go-To-Market activities, as well as supporting commercial delivery for the BSI Portfolio. It is responsible for evolving the shopper/customer/distributor relationship to realize growth at a category level through sharing a common understanding of shopper behaviour with our customer partners. 

The Category Manager RTD is an integral part of this team and is responsible for continuously identifying opportunities throughout the year to realize category growth. This is achieved through an intimate understanding of the category, from a consumption and shopper perspective. This role will see you work closely with the Shopper, Marketing, Innovation, and Commercial Finance and Sales. 

This role reports into the Group Category Manager and will require your support the development of a long-term vision for the RTD category and establish category growth platforms.
 

Role Responsibilities

  • Analysis - Analyzing scan data on a monthly basis to drive understanding of market, category & Beam Suntory brand performance, trends, risks & opportunities, driving recommendation for actions
  • Insights - Identify long term RTD category growth drivers and build a strong understanding of the consumer, shopper and retailer environment by translating data in to insights
  • Action - Identify shopper insights and translate into tactics for the category
  • Assist in developing category strategies for the RTD category that provide the direction for our brands and our retail partners
  • Support development of robust recommendations for innovation: category opportunity, size of prize, price & promotion, channel launch strategy, delivering alignment with our distributor partner CCEP
  • Price & promotion analysis for Beam Suntory portfolio and competitive set – driving insight & recommendation
  • Collaborate with the Shopper Marketing team to provide insights for the development of shopper activations for our brands, analyzing performance post activation to drive learnings and insights for future opportunities
  • Work collaboratively with FBS Category Manager, Category Analyst, Shopper, Marketing, Innovation, Commercial Finance and CCA Category Team.
  • Support the Group Category Manager in development of annual category planning process – category growth drivers, category & shopper strategy
  • Ad hoc project support dependent on current business needs

Qualifications

Self-motivated with a strong ability to learn. You should be pro-active and inquisitive in your analysis, getting to the ‘so what’. Comfortable in delivering the day to day, as well as being flexible in meeting ad hoc business needs. A strong attention to detail, excellent time management skills and ability to meet deadlines. An outgoing and friendly personality is a must. 
Qualifications and Experience 
•    Degree qualification in Business/Commerce/Economics
•    5+ years experience in a similar role in FMCG – Category Development/Category Management/Category Strategy/Sales
•    Customer facing experience 
•    Comprehensive analytical capabilities 
•    Strong communication skills – written & oral
•    Computer skills with all MS packages
•    Advanced Excel skills 
•    Experience using Aztec, Quantium, Shopper Intelligence
