Liquid Planner

This role will be instrumental in a larger initiative within North American Operations.  As Beam strives to be the “world’s most admired spirits company,” the company aims to gain competitive advantage through Lean manufacturing, strategic planning, and strengthened procurement.  The Liquid Planner will schedule bulk liquids and minor ingredients to meet demand, drive efficiency and effectiveness across the Operating Unit (OU) by improving and following business processes, cross functional cooperation, and increasing focus on streamlining manual processes.

Role Responsibilities

Execution of material requirements

Purchase order entry for bulk ingredients

Daily review of MRP exception messages and communication to suppliers of change in requirements – quantity and/or timing

Weekly review of open PO quantities against supplier inventory reports

Schedule Lock Weekly Process

Provide timely solutions for any red-light materials signaled through material confirmation

Master data maintenance

Weekly review of DSP audit reports ensuring all master data elements are complete and correct

Risk Mitigation and Escalation

Follow up with suppliers on outstanding or overdue deliveries

Collaborate with Supply Manager and suppliers to seek solutions to material risk

Purchase to Pay process

Resolve invoice discrepancies and complete web-cycles as necessary in a timely manner

PLM process

Review stranded ingredients for repurpose opportunities

Manages site and system destruction of approved materials ending life cycle

Qualifications

• 4-year college degree preferred/relevant experience considered
• Strong MS Excel skills
• Minimum 3 years of relevant planning/project management experience in a high-performance manufacturing facility – food and beverage industry preferred
• APICS, CIPM, or NAPM, CPM certification preferred
• Analytically inclined - able to merge large data sets, analyze data, synthesize business insight and clearly communicate findings.
• Exceptional communication skills, including the ability to partner with and influence internal partners and external vendors
• Problem Solver - applies critical-thinking skills to generate, evaluate and implement solutions.
• Change Agile - Successfully adapts to changing situations. Manages ambiguity in the function/ role.
